Are you enjoying the series so far?
What do you expect or want to happen next?
Anya will no doubt win best girl this season
i see a fellow lolicon here glad to see more of my brethren
You're sick
[Redacted] how could you man im not sick i just interested in lolis everyone has their own preferences :(
I hope this is a joke
Man, can't they keep their sick jokes / behaviours away from a wholesome anime?
anya's a fucking kid u freak, you're actually disgusting
ay dont use that word she is a loli there is a difference between reality and fiction and im not gonna explain that to an adult im pretty sure you already have that knowledge
where did i say i was a weirdo like you?
the guy u replied to is too much of a bussy to talk to me so he blocked let him have his way but just to let you know before he edited his message he actually typed this "You and your brethrens need to get a job and kiss some real 6/ y/o kids" or smth i dont remember every word but that bussy edited it and is trying to act like he dident type that which is fine tell ur friend that i wish him luck in kissing 6 year olds
oh and btw you said anya is best girl and you know what best girl means if ur gonna act like you dont and that its pure and whatever there is no use talking to u but by saying she is best girl u are implying something like ???? i dont want to spoil it here but get the fucking clues and think for once what does best girl mean and what does it mean for me to see a certain girl as best girl then talk to me about not being or acting like one of us.
By "best girl" I literally meant best girl. Who the hell thinks of lolis when someone says best girl? And no, i'm going to continue shaming lolicons because y'all are WEIRDOS.
ima stop u there cause u dont seem to understand what a best girl is by saying she is best girl you mean she is waifu cause last season marin was best girl and she was a waifu everyone called her best girl but she was a waifu same here if u call anya best girl u are also implying that u love her doesnt matter if sexual or not by saying she is best girl means saying that she is a waifu and what does waifu mean google defination: Waifu is a term for a fictional character, usually in anime or related media, that someone has great, and sometimes romantic, affection for. there you go you get it now if not goodbye
By the way, if you bothered to read all those paragraphs I said OLDER than 6, not 6. I edited it bc at first I didn’t notice Phillip was 16 and still a minor themself so the wording wouldn’t really make sense. I wouldn’t encourage you to kiss real 6 y/o’s that’s even worse, Phillip needs to use context clues next time.
cringe
Bruh is there anything you like? Everytime i see you in a thread your always so negative lol
Sure, there is plenty of stuff I like. I just finished Violet Evergarden and thought it was pretty good, though still deeply flawed.
It’s as if you’re saying there’s a show with no flaws.
There is a difference between having a few flaws and being deeply flawed. My favourite anime is GTO, followed by OPM. I love them both wholeheartedly, and don’t think they have many flaws. Doesn’t mean they are perfect, but there is nothing there that made me hate it. Spy X Family is some of the worst shit I have ever laid my eyes on.
Spy X Family is some of the worst shit I have ever laid my eyes on.
Care to explain lol? I'm not hating or anything but I'm just curious as to why you think so.
To be brutally honest, it's not as funny as the manga. But, everything else is just amazing. Action is great, Anya is cute and Loid is so freaking cool. ED song is good too, definitely one of my favorite in this season.
Its interesting that the same jokes through a different medium can land with a little less impact. This episode had the challenge of delivering a lot of introductory and expository information, which had an impact on the timing of the jokes. That said, I think it did a good and honest adaptation of the first chapter, and I think the comedy will improve significantly when the pacing slows down a little.
Wait I had taken a look at the manga briefly and it looks like it was adapted almost exactly. What’s different that makes the anime less funny? (I thought it was funny as an anime-only, but I also wanted to check out the manga)
@nogznogz Already explained it. Just because it's adapted "exactly" as the manga. It doesn't mean that everything will have the same impact.
Also, I've read the manga several times (especially volume 1) and that makes me knew exactly where and when the jokes come out.
I don’t really get what’s different if it’s adapted the same…if anything shouldn’t the animation add more? It sounds to me that it’s just because you two already read the manga and it’s not funny the second/third/etc. time around.
Yeah I think you're partially right. While reading you have an idea of what all the characters sound like, how people's internal monologue sounds, as well as subtle things like a character's tone. Considering there's a lot of jokes in this manga that essentially boil down to Anya's reaction to her parents thoughts/actions, how Anya's VA choses to sound is going to have a huge effect on the delivery and impact of the joke.
Another aspect is that while you're reading the manga, everyone reads at their own pace, so people will naturally pause to take jokes or certain moments in. In the anime, the pace is set, and I found I didn't have as much time to savor the punchlines as I was used to from reading. Of course these are small details that ultimately didn't take away from the show, they're just little differences that do ultimately have an effect on the comedy. Still the show is very funny, and I expect it to only get better.
Oh my God, this is gorgeous. Fluid animation, colorful, top-tier voice acting, WIT Studio, is this heaven?
And Anya, oh my god. This is exactly how I pictured Spy x Family to be adapted. Pacing is good, we're even getting best girl next week. Loid is extremely handsome, Anya is extremely cute, and we're about to get the extremely beautiful princess next week. This is the dream.
Kaguya-sama and Spy x Family both in the same season, same day. It's like my mental health is automatically recovering from all the illness I got from the previous Winter 2022 season.
Saturdays are like therapy sessions for me, wtf is this feeling of happiness, I just feel so satisfied all of a sudden, LOOK AT THIS SCENE

I want to see the next two episodes before deciding on how I feel about the show, but it is a solid adaptation.
The animation and music quality was excellent along with the voice acting.
That said I felt like the pacing was too fast at times, and some of the humor that worked in manga hasn't been able to hit the same mark in the anime.
Right now though I'd give the adaptation a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
To be honest, I was having doubts looking at the PVs and trailers, particularly with how the art style was going to be adapted but I'm glad they were all blown away when I watched the real thing. One thing I've noticed is that at least with the first episode they're really emphasising the thrill over the humour, which I don't really mind. They definitely didn't make the part where Twilight spits his coffee out as intense as it could be.
Like in the manga's equivalent chapter, it still has to be the part at the very end. I don't have to explain what it is because we all know it's the greatest.
Loving it so far.
Can't wait for Yor's introduction. They can go either crazy or simple with adapting it.
Even though they only cover chapter 1 in this episode, I do feel the pacing is a bit fast. Some of the information gets delivered way too quickly. I am not sure how Anime only watchers feel about the pacing. For example, when Loid went to adopt Anya, the reason why Anya suddenly starts doing crosswalk puzzles. It's due to the fact Loid is thinking to adopt a smart kid for the mission. The joke delivery also feels a bit off compared to the manga. Besides all that, I do think they got everything right.

i haven't read the manga to compare with but the crossword bit made sense since he'd already established he wanted the child to be literate and the previous thought she responded to was already specifically about getting her into a private school
regarding joke delivery a lot of it was pleasantly subtle but i wouldn't be surprised if i did in fact miss some of it
Thanks for the info, I just re-watched it in a different translation group. Turn out they did indeed establish that bit by mentioning Anya being the smartest kid in the orphanage right before the introduction of Anya. It's always nice to learn Anime only watcher's perspective since this is the first time you are experiencing it :,)
Hope you also like the first episode.
The pacing felt fast, yes, but it actually worked in its favor in my opinion. The combination of body language, camera/shot composition, and dialogue gave me all the information I needed and the rapid delivery kept the introductory things from dragging on.
This was actually a spectacular first episode. I came out of episode 1 with a clear understanding of the characters and who they are, the direction the plot will head for the first arc, and I was given reason to come back next week.
