Ai - Infiltrator, scout - very mobile, provides intelligence on whereabouts of hordes - lightly armed, keep away from heavy fighting

Violet - scout, assassin - silent close quarters armed and unarmed combat - can adapt to long range, can manage bites on arms

Revy - main gunner - when the going gets tough, bring in the big guns - limited close quarters combat, preferably should stay to shooting than punching

Zero Two - heavy tank unit (using her mech) - a necessity in any comp, provide transport, strong defense - must be at the front at all times

Lena - operations commander - head honcho to supervise group roles and positions, smart af - limited long range capability, should stay in the rear

The ones I know are capable were exclusively from Record of Ragnarok:

Jack - smarts and prob the tactician, can direct group movement and roles

Adam - close quarters punching, high risk high reward, can finish in one punch but is finished with one bite

Kojirou - think of them as fruits and he's the ninja... get the early 2010's joke?

Poseidon - crowd control, bring in the water cannons

Lu Bu - cavalry, flatten the horde with our own horde

  I can see Naofumi and Shin as the tanks in the group, always at the front to push away most of the horde. Raphtalia's the primary dps, Rista's basically Mercy, and Lena's the actual major who supervises the group's operations and survival.

  You got skipped so:
  (I haven't seen any of these characters (except eiko); am judging solely based on character descriptions on AL)
  Maria - someone to hold the group together
  Leonardo - a strategist of some sort
  Rika - having equipment is good
  Tooka - "lacks some common sense" means she might have some weird eccentric idea that helps out.

  (or swap out leonardo for miyako to increase enjoyment at the cost of being worse at surviving)

Izumi Konata - she's actually surprisingly competent at doing what she does, and I value that competency
Matsuzaka Satou - she seems like exactly the kind of person who'd be useful for something like this, even if a huge pain to deal with
Moriarty James William - having a very smart schemer around helps. not that this is about manipulating people, though he's competent in general.
Zoldyck Killua - even without powers i'm sure he could be useful somehow. though i don't have a good read on how
Miyauchi Renge - i have a spare space and no one to put in it, so in goes some motivation to survive

also wow this takes a long time to do if like 4 people responded since then

Raphtalia - idk she can fend off the zombies for a while probably
Nino - seems like the most helpful quint, and the most likely to find a way to solve the problem
Satowa - bard (i ran out of characters that seem helpful)
Sakuta - maybe the ln protag luck will come in handy (alternative would be another quint, probably yotsuba)

kanna and yotsugi will be my main weapons on the offensive side bc of their powers

since hachikuji is already "you know", she can bolster the defense and take hits without fear i think

yuu will be the brains ig

then chino rounds it out to make coffee for everyone that is tired and boost morale

  the way i interpreted the prompt makes it so that the characters don't get their powers, but without that, this answer makes sense
  any reason why you chose yuu as brains rather than someone else?

  of course hachikuji's still a good choice if you count parallel universes--the rice trick probably won't work this time around but she seems to have taken the whole societal collapse thing pretty well

I mean... they were already lined up on your list. Plus they have the most combat experience. Lena could be an outlier, so should stay in the middle where she can be protected on all sides while planning actions.

  So it seems like Shinobu, Caiman, and Kurumi are breaking the rules, however considering that you don't know most the characters in my favorites, you don't really have much of a choice, still great pick tho otherwise

  All I know from Hinata is that he's that dude from the volleyball anime Haikyu (haven't watched btw), so my assumption is that he's got endurance--something that's a big YES in a zombie apocalypse.

  In a typical zombie apocalypse, like say what happened in HS of the dead, I can def see Misaki, Takumi, and Izumi among those teens packing heat, whacking zombie heads as they cross the street. Lena and Shin would be outliers, prob isekai'd but nonetheless taken in by the other 3 to form a survival group. They'd prob be an even bigger help with their combat experience too.

  Char still got his military training, Priscilla also got a military-grade training, Lio still got his pyrokinetic powers Unless it's the Lio from the finale of the movie, cuz he lose his powers, so yeah, I see your point Without Robo, however, Daisaku is just a little kid, so he would be the only one who would be pretty helpless without the grown-ups around him.
  
  I concede that their chances of survival take a nose-dive without their super death machines though, but I can also see them somehow managing to survive the undead by the skin of their teeth.
