Lol I knew it would end with Maruo fighting Doppo. I have a feeling there might be an extra chapter in jump giga or something in the future so the series can have a proper conclusion.
It was fun but nothing really stood out for me imo. When Hashihime was killed, I just knew things were going to come to an end soon.
I’m sorry but I found it hilarious how there were many who thought Doppo would be one of the best antagonists in jump lmao.
Another manga with big potential gone too soon fuck shonen jump
Big potential? Uhh… yeah sure
It was certainly fun but I wouldn’t go as far as to say it had “big potential”
Considering how many dramatis personae and worldbuilding materials got subtly dropped and literally never got to be used - I think that's fairly accurate. The lackluster qualities (general lack of main character synergy and altogether straightforward fights) - were undergoing active upgrades. This cancellation felt like clipping the wings of a series that was almost ready to fly. I'd have sooner cancelled Doron Dororon, since they're both vying for the exact same audience and were probably actively hurting each other's sales - but that has a somewhat marketable mascot character.
It just needed more time, over its entire run there were only like 3 chapters I did not find thoroughly enjoyable. I think supernatural series are just going to have a hard time in jump, and Ayashimon had a few issues, that needed time to fix. Which isn't good in jump where the polls are pretty unforgiving. I just hope Doron Dororon survives if they axed Ayashimon. I like both, the latter more, but it would suck if they axe it.
Same. Only a few chapters were a little bit "boring", and even those were relevant for the story. Most of them were fast-paced and entertaining, and even though the main point itself is simple I believe there would have been lots of development not only to the story but the characters specially. A pity.
Sad, really. This manga was one of the best newbies from the Jump for me. I love the concept of yokai yakuza battles. Sadly, I guess the author didn't even know about it getting axed when he started the last arc.
Nevertheless, I liked the characters, art and battles. Gonna give it seven.
Rip another good manga from Jump
