Pretend to like this anime:
Pupa
This was such a nostalgic ride. The episodes were engaging with awesome battles between robots and seeing the bond between the protagonist and his metabot strengthen throughout the course of the story was so heartwarming. Truly worthy of a 5/5.
. . . . . . . . . . .
By the way sorry for the late response. Also you seem disappointed that Metabots was the lowest rated anime on my list so far? Not that I am mad about it or anything, but more I am just curious.
Thinking about watching this, would you recommend it?
Sword Art Online
I never cared about natural science, but after watching Kyochuu Rettou Movie (or KyoRet, like we fans call it), i was willing to study biology at an university. Because this movie so good damn good.
You probably know about this type of story where the unpopular nerd saves everyones day thanks to his or her absurd knowledge about a niche topic. Haters may say that KyoRet is basically this, but in fact, the science part is woven so perfectly into the plot that you barely notice it at all. This 1 hour 15 min horror movie is more educational than a full day of National Geographic documentaries.
The story is great. Love and hate, trust and betrayal, loyalty and the will to surpass your own limits for your friends are the keystones for this masterpiece. The dialogues are well written and, while tackling some of the most important questions of human nature, always fit the situation and never feel artificial or constructed.
Same goes for the characters. Forget the walking tropes you know from all the mainstream anime, every character from KyoRet is more refined and has more depth and the full cast of Evangelion combined.
Visual and sound design are great as well, especially when it comes to the bugs. The love for detail is unparalleled compared to other anime and sometimes I was wondering if this really is animated or someone sneaked an actual recording into it.
All in all, Kyochuu Rettou Movie is the best animated movie mankind will ever witness, maybe the best movie in general. Refusing to watch it will be biggest mistake you can make in your life.
@TohkaTron this should be a hoot.
EXARM
EX-ARM is the goat. Truly the greatest anime of all time.
Everything about it is amazing. Amazing characters, excellent CGI, and the best story ever told in anime.
Oh, and the video on how the anime was made on YT is truly an inspiration on how people should make an anime. KyoAni and all these other studios should learn from them.
AoT, SXF, Fruits Basket, Steins Gate, and all those others ain't got shit on this.
bc, um ... reads from script ... The real theme of the series is the incommunicability and misunderstanding between human beings, and the fear and all the behaviours that derive from it. The years will pass, the decades, but the series remains future-proof, dealing with a theme linked to the human soul. In these twenty years we have seen fast internet, smartphones, social networks, and startups, but humanity has not made substantial progress on issues related to understanding and respect among individuals, indeed. The Third Impact happening in the feature film “The End of Evangelion”, is a final climax of incredible aesthetic beauty, but also one of the most ambitious and satisfying endings I’ve ever seen in an anime. A unique way of storytelling and groundbreaking, deep, flawed and realistic characters for the time it aired. etc etc
But why did u rate this low TT I unironically agree with some of this review
good4u !
Noo answer me :/
I won't judge your opinion (that much) I'm just genuinely curious as to why u think it is a bad show
read my notes ig i really don't care enough to answer fully
the point is idc ab eva it didnt change my life it just gave me an existential crisis so yeah
i hate it
positively traumatizing
This is hands down my favorite anime, never once have i been so blown away by such amazing characters such detailed visuals of pleasure such a balanced yet OP power system that definitely makes a lot of sense.
I cant begin to tell you how good this anime is for starters, i recommend this to every beginner and veteran weeb because gems like this are hard to come by
I mean what more is there to say? It's peak. The characters are all so unique and likable, I could really see their growth throughout the season. I loved the deep underlying theme this show offers, racism is bad. Until watching this show, I'd never even considered that. It changed my life! But I think my favorite thing about this show was the mystery it offered, I was always guessing. It was a genius idea to air the episodes not in chronological order and for the story to never pick up where it left off. And these are just the first few things that jump to mind. Thanks for making this show diet JC Staff!
The protagonist was really the star of the show in my opinion, never had I ever seen a man that could pathetic to such an extreme degree...yet in the context of this show it worked brilliantly. The expectation of a hard 'bruh' moment every 5 minutes is what kept me clicking the next episode button. The enjoyment of this anime is only furthered by the lack of the protagonists game and his abuse of the rental system....overall a flawless show...undoubtedly a must watch

one of the best original sequel to a series that I ever watched.
Mostly the last 5 episodes that they nailed the writing.
Not to mention the last episode that they showed the arcs that characters were in and montage it brilliantly that it wasn't felt rushed at all
(can I stop? It's a pain to talk about it in public)
It's a truly unique, well written masterpiece. One of it's kind.
Every other anime is just pathetic in comparison to this. My mind was blown, as I finished this anime I felt like I have ascended to heaven.
Did I mention how amazing the animation was? It felt like it was all real
and man you gotta love the jiggle physics.
its such a pity i didnt watch the whole thing because it was too goof of a masterpiece i didnt dare have a lowlife like me watch it. its definitely alot better than tokyo ghoul especially the first episode i was in awe of how good the episode was going it was almost an hour i kept shitting my pants in excitement in anticipation of what the next frame would bring. oh and did i mention how hot the mc is??
Ah, see, this right here is a masterpiece in its simplicity.
It doesn't have to be some epic super-long series with over 1000 episodes. In fact, it doesn't even have to be an episode. This special is content with simply being a next episode preview for an episode that doesn't exist, and it is within this simplicity that it truly transcends the rote nature of next episode previews to become something more, something truly special.
I mean, it truly is a special, actually.
@KronosBach
Vampire in the Garden
it seems like you're kinda new to anime so you mostly watched the basic stuff
(but you started in 2016, I started in 2020, I think my pace is a little too fast lol)
Honestly a masterpiece of the medium. Considering the storytelling potential of 6 episodes, it was a brilliant decision to not decide on a single location but move 4 seprate times, really making you wonder; "I wonder if the next location will have even more development than the last."
Let alone the subtlety of the relationship between the two main characters, laden with romantic subtext, and yet never fully brought to fruition due to the extremely tragic finale.
A Fan Favorite:
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi
Pokémon has always been a favorite of mine, and rings true for many others, and many con remember the excitement of knowing there was going to be a Movie to this believed franchise. Now fast forward to 2019, Pokémon has been a company blessing many with smiles for over 20 years. What better to celebrate this marvelous achievement but to go back to their roots and to bring the story that so many feel nostalgia for, to a new, younger generation? But they couldn't just air it again, they had to do something new, something innovative, something they couldn't do in the 90s of their early days. Something tat would add a new dimension to the story... so they did just that. Behold, the refined 3D remake of the classic rendering a new stage in the Pokémon legacy, and a new stage in our hearts.
Final Score: 93/100
Ah yes, Eromanga Sensei. Truly the peak of slice of life anime. The relationship between the protagonist and his sister was compelling and complex. I could really feel the chemistry between the two. If only it had a season 2. Only then would this masterpiece of animation get the recognition it deserves.
