Opinions on the first episode? I think this is gonna be a chill weekly anime to enjoy and laugh to when you're bored
(Opening theme slaps btw)
As a reader and lover of the original work, I find it somewhat embarrassing to see an anime with such poor technical quality in 2022. Beyond that, however, it is well adapted and the music chosen is really beautiful.
P.S. @ShuuSama If it is adapted properly it will not be a chill weekly anime hahaha
I've read only a little of the manga, actually, I've only read what the anime adapted with it's first episode, and man, compared to the manga, the anime is straight up dog shit. At least the end of the episode was good, but other than that, there are no redeeming qualities. It's sad to see the adaptation that the author wanted for years, ended up being garbage. Anyhow, only one episode has aired so I can't really judge much. I'm not expecting much but I will still give it a chance.
I was not planning to watch the rest of this series but honestly it is not that bad, it is watchable at worst. But honestly, it saddens me so much the poor quality, anime should have more simple colors, not that much shading. There is literally no action, this looks like most of AoT S4 action scenes where the characters don't interact, they switch scenes and the action is done. The golem color design is awful, they should be either all white or brown but not this shit we got.
And the worst offender, they removed all the panty shots which in my opinion are the soul of this story, without them the scenes lose most of their charm. There is nothing better than seeing a female character doing some badass shit while having a glimpse of her panties.
Honestly, the best thing about this adaptation is finally being able to hear Samidare with her Kansai accent, this is what makes me want to continue watching because it is a charm that couldn't be noticed in the original story. And her VA is really good doing her voice, that is the only thing the anime adaptation has done right so far.
Anyways, to whomever is reading this and has doubts whether continue to watch this or not: please, read the manga and then, if you want, watch the anime. Because what we got is a complete disservice to the original story and its art. (Also read Spirit Circle, this mangaka has some "hidden" masterpieces).
Honestly seeing all this animated feels like a dream already, the start is kind of slow so I didn't expect much, but at the moment I'm quite liking it, I strongly believe that the quality of the anime will be decided mostly by how the adapt the most important scenes, the first one being Hangetsu's death.
It'd be great if it got 24 chapters as there's no way they're going to adapt it all nicely in just 12...
