Pretty much what the title says. Pick an anime from the above user's watched list, ask them why they decided to check it out.
They'll answer, and the next person asks you the same question about a title on your list!
@Sarito
You should comment instead of replying. And to answer, it was my third or second Anime. Those bankai edits made me feel interested, especially Aizen and Ichigo fight edits. And l don't regret watching it at all
@NaruNarcy
This was the anime that got me into the medium as a whole so I wanna hear how you learned of it and why you originally decided to check it out
Toradora
Omg okay thank you for asking. I watched it quite recently actually, just a couple months ago!!
So the main draw for me, unapologetically, was yuri AND I WONT LIE. However, the episodic and historical tags, and the mainly female focused cast caught my eye as well!! Now that ive watched it though....i can also say it hit probably like every single button possible for me when it comes to the perfect anime x.x. Cute girls doing cool spy work, saving lives, shooting bad guys, having tea, navigating politics, taking over an empire. I do suggest you give it a try ^^
Stories about heroes are great, but so are ones about villains (at the time I was still big on Overlord and the MLA Arc in S5 of My Hero Academia, it was still in manga form at the time), so this caught my eye immediately. Kept up with it all the way and it was a lot of fun, give it a try!
I look back on the Fall 2020 season very fondly, I've not kept up with that many shows at the same time since. It's hard haha.
A friend recommended Ultimate to me (in part because he wanted to show me Ultimate Abridged next), but I still went and watched the 2001 version next, out of curiosity.
Hellsing was fine, but Ultimate was undoubtedly better in nearly every way: better production values, the story was more faithful to the manga from what I heard, and the series' take on vampire mythology in general was pretty interesting.
The original series had some good ideas and was generally fine, but it's completely overshadowed by Ultimate.

Shinryaku Ika Musume
What brought you to Squid Girl?
I wanted to watch an anime on a plane and I chose Squid Girl
Christine Marie Cabanos also did the protagonist in dub and that also piqued my interest
It became one of my fav animes
This is a good choice.
So, I'm not a fan of harems, and I enjoy indulging in isekais despite the typical tropes in them. I was curious about the reverse premise with someone coming from an isekai back to modern day and trying to readjust.
This show does that and more. It's actually more refreshing than I thought it'd be.
@Sobann
Nisemonogatari
before kizu 😢
for the actual question
Charlotte
had watched
Kubikiri Cycle Aoiro Savant to Zaregotozukai
on a recommendation, knew monogatari was held in high esteem, same author and studio, just ended up feeling like it
@tasteofmadeleines
For the plot, right?
Right?
Free Eternal Summer
I honestly don't remember why I watched it in the first place, I was probably just looking for more comedy anime at the time.
As to why I like it, well, comedy is ultimately subjective and I found the show hilarious and the characters endearing/entertaining. Although realistically if the characters in the show were real people I'd definitely think they're all massive pieces of shit and or extremely creepy lmao but that's what makes the show funny I suppose.
Hmm..... I was quite curious about this one. An anime about skateboarding wasn't done before, and I thought it seemed quite interesting given a few clips that I saw about it.
When I saw it, it was definitely worth the watch. I recommend it.
Funny enough though, I'm not too big on skating in real life.

@NyxCrab
Haibane Renmei
I really want to know whats so special about this one (you've rated this highly too).
I watched it mainly because it's something ABe worked on and he quickly became someone who's work I fell in love with after I watched Lain (Konaka too but he didn't have a hand in this show).
As for why it's special, it's kinda hard to explain as Haibane's a show best watched as blind as possible imo. For me personally the reason I liked it so much is because it's almost the antithesis to the types of shows I usually watch. It has a lot of similar themes and ideas but it's presented in a much different manner. Compared to shows like Evangelion or Texhnolyze where it almost felt like they were trying to beat you down with how dark and depressing it could get, Haibane takes subject matter like that and presents it in a way that's almost... therapeutic you could say. On top of that it has a very cool and interesting world and lovable cast even if it's clear who the main focus of the plot is.
I didn't really mean to turn that into a review of the show but idk man I loved Haibane so much after I finished it, it's so different from almost everything else I've watched so far and somehow that makes it more special to me.
I always treated that show as that one show in the list of every "Elitist" and never really checked it out, I know that it was unfair of me to judge a show based on such silly things. Though the people i asked before about what was special about or why they liked it didnt help either. They always gave some kind of vague answer.
Anyway after reading your short insight to the show i feel like giving it a try. Thanks!
I honestly can't fault the people for being vague when it comes to Haibane, as I said it's a show that works best when you're blind going on and it can be hard for people to explain what about it makes it so special without spoiling some of the later events. It does make it hard to recommend for people unsure if they'd like it though, but I'm glad that my short description of the show was enough to get you interested. Hopefully you'll like it whenever you get around to trying it.
Honestly I don't remember why I watched it but it was already very popular at the time. So maybe because of that and the somewhat unique palette looked cool.
I would say it's worth checking out but it's not a work that will please everyone. I like it but I don't consider myself a huge fan of the first season. So it might take a little persistence to be sure if it's for you or not.
Because it is a harem but presented in a masochistic way, it can scare both those who like and those who don't like this type of thing. But as far as I've seen it's not important to the plot.
