You don't need to list them, just post the number. Count everything from TV shows, to films, to manga.
If it's a series with multiple seasons, and you've rated more than one of them 10/10, you only need to count it once.
And then name one favorite among all of them.
13 anime and 6 manga, My favorite anime of all time is Legend of the Galactic heroes and all time favorite manga is Kodomo no jikan, absolutely love the story and depth of both series
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu
Kodomo no Jikan
Is this just a weird thing for me as my favorite anime/manga of all time constantly changes depending on my mood? There has never been a #1 for me as I can pour my passion equally between all of my 10/10 scores.
This is why I stopped scoring, I would change scores randomly because one day I felt like one anime was worse or better and then next week I'd be like nah that was actually pretty awesome and I enjoyed it. It got frustratingly annoying.
Shit you just reminded me of that phase. I was like "wow anilist is amazing, you can use decimals" then I realize how pointlessly pinpoint it is.
I just use it to categorize shows and compare them. Its easier in my mind as sometimes I just... forget. I forget how I felt about the show. Its also another reason why I rewatch shows as I wanted to see if the score held up.
13 anime
My favorite
My DressUp Darling
7 anime* and... 1 manga at a flawless 100.
Stretching it to 98+, 8 anime and 3 manga (I'm gonna count the two light novels together).
Overall, my favourite's gotta be Song I am.
...Though Puchigonavis is probably pretty close-- cute boys made even cuter by chibi-ness--
...So there's best anime and manga according to me:
BanG Dream Episode of Roselia II Song I am
Puchigonavis
*Only rolling together Bandori Pico's three seasons and Isekai Quartet, not all BanG Dream entries. Because I dunno.
3 total
Hunter x Hunter 2011
I have 5 in total, all of them being anime, my fav is
Death Parade
Got 2 tens. 1 for anime and 1 for manga.
Houseki no Kuni
Ez wins between the 2 tho
10 anime, 3 manga
All time favorite
Neon Genesis Evangelion
For the actual category, I have 20 10/10 manga, and my favorite is
Assassination Classroom
For my anime, I have 10 10/10 anime and 4 of them are seasons of Saiki K LOL
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
1 Anime.
Manga is hard since so many just never end.
Shinobu deserves it for being a good story that doesn't overstay its welcome.
Mousou Telepathy has a great cast and also flies by at ~800 pages.
Ninja Shinobusan no Junjou
Mousou Telepathy
And then in the world of light novels, I gotta give it to Bookworm P3. Individually I think the first volume is weaker that the rest, but overall I think it's a solid set of books and other volumes deserve that 10. P4 has some great stuff as well.
Honzuki no Gekokujou Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen Dai 3bu Ryoushu no Youjo
So many manga never end it's just that a lot of the great ones take a lot of time to finish. You should check out my list it's got a ton of mid-length about 100 chapter manga that's the sweet spot if you want something that's not super long
Will do. For me it's just a bit frustrating to have 300 ongoing series on my list where you don't know if they'll ever deliver a conclusion - it puts a big asterisk on any recommendation or rating.
You're telling me, man. I just had to pause like 7 series because I can't be bothered keeping track of all of them at once.
I use a reader application on my phone so I at least get notifications when new chapters are available, for me it's an issue of infrequency. I have a bunch of series where either the official release or the translations dropped off the map and haven't had a chapter in years.
EDIT: Speak of the devil, Tyra and Cera is a good example and a new chapter just popped up.
The series was written between 2019 and 2020, there were 6 of the total 19 chapters translated to English with the last being in mid-2020. Then radio silence until someone else picked up the translation in early 2022. So a year and a half without a chapter for a sub-20 chapter series that I'm just idly reading whenever it pops up.
I've rated 2 anime (counting End of Evangelion together with the main series) at 10, and also 2 manga. I think that's reasonable from ~200 total animanga.
my overall favorite is
Shin Seiki Evangelion
but depending on its ending, it's very very possible
Otoyomegatari
passes it. or One Piece, maybe, but it has more room to cover to become my #1 favorite. Generally, I think series become legendary by ending. so it's hard to put an unfinished series at #1.
