I've seen some people say its bones, but I'm not really sure
It's not mappa for sure, they have taken way much to handle. Bones is a big possibility but here's an unpopular opinion it's JC staff.
If that's true, I hope there's a staff change atleast, opm s1 was so good in the first place because the staff was skilled and a lot of them had worked before as well with eachother. Apparently that staff is working at bones now so if it's bones this season is gonna be a guaranteed banger
@georobloxo most of OPM S1's staff weren't from bones and were freelancers from different studios while OPM S2 had some freelancers but sadly didn't had much important ones expect a few ones due to the tight schedule given to the new staff's throats.
its been said that it's not jc staff as they dropped it
@19myle it's a rumor so far and nothing is officially announced yet.
The best studio for this would be Madhouse as they did the first season and it was the best season. But I really don't know how likely it is that they'll make the third season.
Though my most likely candidate would be studio BONES. They made mob psycho which has a similar animation style and was very well done. They seem to be a very reliable choice.
I hear many people say MAPPA, but their animation style is far too different from what we see in OPM so the chances of them making it are slim to none. This goes for studio TRIGGER too.
Also, I would very much appreciate it if JC Staff never touched OPM ever again, after that absolute shit storm that was the second season.
oh look another person hating on s2 , i guess you people really want to have an s3 thats even worse than s2 cuz thats what u deserve
lol the hate is absolutely deserved. S2 was miles apart in quality from S1, there is no debating that, and while S2 had alright animation when compared to other anime that were coming out at the time, its not the kind of quality that OPM fans were expecting.
So, finally, your statement is just dumb. OPM fans deserve better than S2, it was awful.
okay lets just disregard the animators who work tirelessly for it and got blame all the hate even though they did their best with the amount of time they had, go look into the story and lets see whos dumb
Lmao [redacted]? Nobody is hating on the animators. We all know that the animators only do what the directors tell them to do. They all have their own styles and strengths, its not their fault that the directors are idiots and can't choose an appropriate animation style and studio to make a good product.
I have read the manga for OPM several times, you have no ground here. If you aren't gonna say anything intelligent then shut the fuck up, honestly.
also wtf are u blind to ur own messages or something u literally mentioned Jc staff
Damn you really thinking that directors chose the studio huh lmao. Its the fucking producers you dumbass.
The best studio for this would be Madhouse as they did the first season and it was the best season
Although on paper it was Madhouse, actually it was Shingo Natsume’s vision and the work of other passionate freelancers (which iirc work mostly with studio Bones). There was an article saying that the reason Madhouse didn't accept the contract for OPM s2 was because Shingo Natsume wasn't available.
That's also true. I did think it more likely that we get a better product if Madhouse did it though, they are at least respected in the community for good animation.
@dkdumpling and then they produced Afterlost in the same season and year OPM S2 aired and it was very rushed lmao
@Nll0 most of S1's animators are freelancers while they worked with bones they aren't affiliated to them.
That statement is completely wrong.
OPM S1 is a work that achieved that level thanks to Madhouse exclusive animation producer Yuuichirou Fukushi, who took it upon himself to recruit so many talented animators from the industry, including the top 4 action animators (Kugai, Kameda, Oda, and Kim), even managed to recruit Yutaka Nakamura.
He also recruited Shingo Natsume and Chikashi Kubota.
Also, in OPM S1 there were only 2 people affiliated with Bones, while Madhouse used many of their interns in every aspect of the production, most notably Kawajiri, who was responsible for preventing the production from compromising in the final part.
I don't know where the idea of discrediting Madhouse's internal staff and their importance in this adaptation came from, but it is very annoying, even more so that they want to give some kind of credit to Bones
I want Madhouse to take it back. It did a great job with the first season
Edit: Oh wait I scrolled up and saw that it was a slightly different situation to what I'm imagining. Well I'm changing what I said above to "I want Madhouse to take it back. I want the guy who made the first season possible is available"
Still no update on which studio is animating, also not a single leaker get any info either shows that production isn't even started (Hope this won't be the case) yet they just announced s3 .
It's been close to 1year , Hope production was started when they announced s3 visual if not we are doomed.
eh not really there were several leaks about whos behind, alot of leakers said its mappa at first and still alot of people think mappas behind it but other leakers recently also said its bones, as for production its really does look like they announced it the moment they started production which was a pretty weird move in my opinion, i dont really mind the wait tbh as long as the show we get is good
