I need tons of copium after what I just saw. Between the reveal of how long Chisato has left, more of her backstory and that ending, it all almost sent me to tears!
please no
please no
please NO
No way this is permanent unless it's a one season show
I mean, it's an original, so I wouldn't expect a sequel season in the first place.
True but its been very successful and brought in a lot of money. Im hoping that will make them create a franchise since the creators also really like this show and it brings in money which what companies care about
Something like this would have been set in stone long before airing; if they've planned for the worst to happen, they can't change it at this point. Redrawing plans for the ending or even multiple episodes just can't happen this late into production unless there is a serious problem that must be addressed. Let's just hope some miracle happens where she lives.
They really didnt try to hide anything huh? i had tears in my eyes during first few minutes.
Takina's VA is killing it with these past episodes.
Yoshi is really a shitty guy man, went to get some milk and never came back. i love how worried Fuki was for Chisato.
Smol chisato was really cute and innocent and the eye catch was really deep with how Chisato has the ribbon tied to the gun as Shinji said killing is her gift and for Takina its bound to her coz of DA

They really dont miss with these fits.
Takina's development is over the roof, like at the beginning Chisato was such a fun character that almost everyone was being overshadowed but rn Takina is hard carrying.
Also black haired and purple eyed characters will always be beautiful
A heavy episode on viewers and especially Takina, also come on Kurumi you gotta come through.
But this was funny, coz of last episode i legit forgot that Majima is a villian.
Most depressing ep so far. It def was "yabai" as the character designer described it. First we had them drop a bombshell on us by revealing that Chisato only has 2 months left to live, and then by the end of the ep Takina left the cafe :( when I saw the winter scene in the PV I was hopin it would be towards the end of the show after everythings been resolved, but now that's not the case. The way they just walked away from each other was kinda pain..... though as for Chisato's heart, I would assume Kurumi is gonna try to work something out in the time that's left (massive hopium) but even then Chisato mentioned that she didn't have much time left anyways so she's possibly destined to die regardless, sooner or later
Towards the end of the ep after the ED, Majima is seen holding Yoshi hostage. Really curious about what he's gonna do moving forward and what his role is gonna be
waiting another week is gonna be pretty painful, though I gotta say this is truly one of a kind experience that we should be grateful to be able to experience in real time, considering how this show doesn't have a source material so the most anyone can do is speculate what's gonna happen next. I'm lovin every bit of it
So we got several factions : Alan, Majima, DA, Chisato and "Save Chisato Squad!" (Takina, Walnut and LycoReco staffs).
Also, how about LilyBell? We got a very suspicious Chekhov's Gun over here.
So many have endeavored to turn you into an outstanding Lycoris. But I see you plan on dying without fulfilling your role."
"What you and I consider to be my role are very different."
As a scholarship recipient by myself, I frequently got this kind of threat and i can relate to that. Whether it's someone else, trying to hijack the vaguely defined "mission" so i can be forced to do their own interpretations. Or some random passerby, who's asking my progress in fulfilling "my mission". Sure, the scholarship is literally saving my life, and i owe my life to this scholarship and the donor organization. But I have my own principle and ideals to adhere with. I'm working hard everyday to fulfill my own mission.
And the fact that, in the end , I actually got a huge fight with my own scholarship donor organization is really something else (yes, eventually they force me to do something fishy). I can relate to Chisato so much. :'))
Oh, summarized other people's opinions regarding this episode here
Was a very bittersweet episode, seeing Chisato trying to enjoy her time remaining while Takina is trying to cope with the knowledge that she will lose her friend, trying to get her to slow down to prolong what time she has left.
The ending with them walking away from each other is seemingly their last goodbye before Takina leaves the cafe and works for the DA again, but the trailers are hinting that they will meet in the DA mission as they are both gonna join.
Majima being the wild card is very interesting, especially with him also being an Alan Child. Maybe he has some bad blood with them and Lycoris because of his past.
I really loved this episode, the expression they put on the characters were a great addition that enhances everything they showed so far.
Both the fact that Chisato is gonna die, and the fallout from this revelation offer up a fair amount of emotional damage and hype for what comes next!
I cried a bit, but that just goes to show how much I love the characters, and I know I'm not the only one. Really glad we at least get this story in a season full of not-so-relevant animes lol
This ep left me with such a harsh bittersweet feeling…I can’t….
You can’t do this…this feels like a farewell. No, it is. Chisato…
This is devastating…this will be a tragedy isn’t it? Chisato somewhat reminded me of Siesta
That’s how original action-slice of life anime are….
I still saw it coming with how happy and cheerful she is and how she doesn’t kill :(((((
i want to cry
and the date :’)…so precious. I really wholeheartedly want chisato and takina to stay together…I really want to
Even after what seems to be Mika and Shinji living together like a couple. I love this, even if it ends up being gay bait it still gave me a smile after a sad episode.
The last scene before the credits…I wanted them to hug </3. Is this really going to be the last time??….PLEASE STAY
Im the only one who thinks the story is kinda superficial ? The premise is good but the way they explore some points seems shallow and empty.
unfortunately, it is, there is no explanation of anything, it just happens because of reasons that no one needs to know and the rest is focused on the day-to-day of the characters, because if he were serious, he would have taken another path much darker and logical but as it is to be happy and joyful, you don't need depth just the surface
see chisato, a character who lives happily to disguise sadness, the reality of many people, because no one wants to live unhappy or sad
that is, happy people with a trace of sadness that at the end of each episode you forget everything
i agree. for example I find Chisato's decision to keep helping DA with their work to be selfish and hypocritical. her peaceful daily life at LycoReco only exists because DA gives them money. she refuses to kill, using pepper rounds and tying up criminals to hand them to DA . except those criminals are probably getting imprisoned without trial, tortured, etc. because DA is the secret police!! their world is a surveillance state dystopia like psychopass except shown as a good thing. also there'd be no way to keep organizations like lycoris and the male equivalent, which are thousands of soldiers, hidden from the public.
this wouldn't be a problem if the writers stuck to slice of life, but they constantly try to do politics or spy drama. it just doesnt match up
no one explained who the "alan machine" is
They didn't say the reason why the change of heart can't be done
they didn't say why Chisato was born with x-men powers, just keeping them after becoming a robot
How are conditions imposed on the individual who is saved by Alan? do they implant a chip in the person's brain? because nothing prevents them from not doing what they want and let me guess, when they don't do what they want they cut the person's head off, just like they did with Chisato, nice
9999999999999.999999999999999999% sure she doesn't explode due to overload at the end, feelsad
even more given the popularity of the anime and its adaptation to manga/LN
i still prefer the story of Tenma and Johan
