Wtf that was the finale, c'mon season 3 please.....
I hope Maryrose and Rosemary are alive, i might read the manga.
Also Anthony is alive, excited to see how Kate improves by being with him.
Damn i feel bad for the twins, also W for Kate and Emilico for the promotion.

I love Kate and Emilico's relationship and its nice to see every time at how caring Kate is about Emilico.
While i liked Barabara coz of these last few episodes but fuck barbie.... Also go off Emilico.
Im not too sure about the whole recruitment thing from thier group since i think Sarah would just report Kate and the twins upon learning that all the suffering they went through was because of Maryrose and since Kate is tied with them the whole finding people to their cause would turn out ugly.

Overall while i found the first half of s2 to be a bit weak but it was a great setup for the final episodes, which i enjoyed even more than s1.
So this episode ended on chapter 82 of the manga and if anyone wants to continue, you can start from chapter 79 because they kinda cut a couple pages but overall this is a solid adaptation, much better than whatever Cloverworks did in season 1.
I hope I'm not intruding, but would you recommend reading the whole manga or starting right where this season left off? I'm thinking of starting the manga if there's no sign of a season 3 but I have this little doubt in case the adaptation of this and season 1 cut thing from the manga.
I hope I'm not intruding
No you're not! Its not a problem.
For this series in particular, there has not been a ton of skipping, but the final 3 episodes of season 1 were anime-original. However, they have skipped some chapters in early Season 1, and the introduction of the Master Robe is slightly different, so what I recommend doing is-
Read Chapter 9, then read 18-20 to see how Robe-sama was actually introduced, and then start from chapter 79.
Otherwise, the simplest thing you can do is start from the beginning. Most chapters until ch.60 are just over 10 pages(after which it becomes 15 pages per chapter) and you can burn through it in a day. The art is beautiful as well (and colored).
Hope this was helpful!
If rent a girlfriend has season 3, then this should have one too!
Felt like some animation is lacking, but overall it is still good. The plot kept getting more and more interesting, and a lot of characters gain more depth.
Seeing how Emilico thinks in this episode makes me remember how bad “living doll” lives are. The bar is in hell; everyone needs to work for their shadow master and the house 24/7, you get less time to sleep and some of them are even being outright abused and even “broke”. Things like these make kids in the mansion think about the world less and less, to the point that they don’t think anymore; just follow the order, as the common phrased “Don’t fret over trivial matters!”. In the end, it is just like Kate said in post-credit: The Shadows House is a mistake.
See you next season, hopefully.
My feelings on this season are quite mixed, but overall positive.
Season one came on with an incredible start with a lot of intrigue and great storytelling but was ultimately let down by straight up giving away the coffee mystery in the final episodes (this did not happen in the source). The OP and ED were bangers, and the animation quality was consistent throughout.
Now that we have entered season 2 the mystery and atmosphere has generally worn off. The intrigue and despair of the house in season 1 were replaced with a half-baked phantom in this season (this is ignoring that they did not give enough screen time to Rosemary and Maryrose since that is not necessarily the adaptation's fault). What gave season one its edge was the presence of the adults. Per the rules of the house they did not interfere directly but their presence was always felt, and it gave a sense of weight and consequence to Kate's actions. They were noticeably absent this season and it felt like nobody was even looking.
The OP and ED felt a bit more generic pop this time around. They still fit the tone, but they didn't have as much personality as the first season's songs.
Finally, the art quality was not as consistent as it was in the first season. I will not harp on this point too much for this show in particular since the lows still looked good on their own, though when taken relative to its own highs it was noticeable.
I am still very much interested in a third season and given more time I will start picking up the English release (volume 1 was released back in July 2022). This season very much feels like a lull in the story, a setup for more interesting things to come.
the final episode has a post-credits scene showing maryrose is alive! or at least, she managed to leave her purple rose in Kate's room to signal she and rosemary survived the fall. maryrose is still my favorite character so I'm very relieved.
I really hope that ending the season on such a trailing note means there will definitely be a next season coming out.
