Oh shit these mad lads are actually going to adapt till volume 3.
They are going to follow the main plotlines but the way its executed is way different from manga, plus this episode most of the dialogues were skipped.
I'll never forgive them for this and Euphie imagining Anis harem, wataru not cooking.

Nvm, lewd handholding & kiss behind tree>>>>>>

Also nice detail with the strapless bra since she wore a dress with exposed shoulders.

Okay, that’s definitely Yuri lol. I really do appreciate the story actually having more nuanced characters, with Euphyllia and Anisphia complementing each other, Anisphia being able to comfort Euphyllia because she sees from her angle what Euphyllia struggles with, but also Euphyllia’s father, Grantz Magenta, actually showing compassion and care. It was such a nice moment to see him apologize and openly voicing his thoughts, and also voicing his unconditional support for Euphyllia, it’s so rare to see in these kinds of stories. King Orphan meanwhile has a mental breakdown because of Anisphia, and well, it makes sense because being lesbian is in such a world kinda outrageous, I guess. Anisphia is revolutionary in every way, be it that she doesn’t intend to marry a man or developing devices which can rival magic, basically nullifying the privilege royals have over the common folk. The name of the show has some substance now. Despite being “revolutionary”, though, the characters so far are anything but black and white, and I really appreciate the nuance. Orphan is conservative and traditional, and Anisphia is giving him headaches, nonetheless it shows he cares for her and both of them have a relatively healthy relationship because of their constant arguments which never get that serious, though. And he does let her roam free, after all, even if she doesn’t meet his expectations. Grantz meanwhile seems to be more open-minded, looking forward to what Anisphia can do, while still maintaining the dignity of a nobleman. And he sort of acts as balance, since as a friend of Orphan and is able to express his opinion when they aren’t in the public eye. Anisphia is also known as troublemaker for various stuff she causes, but even Orphan has to acknowledge her devices are useful and he uses them himself too. I’m happy too that this story doesn’t try to bait or be vague here, with Anisphia saying out loud she wants to marry a woman, even trying to flirt with Euphyllia openly in front of her father. This symbol is cute too, lol.
OP/ED song is both pretty decent, don’t think I particularly like either though, and the visuals are also kinda nice in both. About the OP, while it’s basic in storyboarding with showcasing both Anisphia and Euphyllia, I want to point out that it’s nice how the characters are not only shown in characteristic poses, but very clearly within the environment to show both contrast but also their place in this world. Very much told with only one still each.
It’s interesting too how RL and fantasy world settings are shown in succession at the start of the ED, which hints maybe to the significance of Anisphia’s memories when it comes to her creations which emulate RL stuff. The ED is also solo key-animated by Mina Shibano. Staff lists in general are rather short for this show (although the sakkan list is heavy, still), and it still looks fine, not as good as the first episode though. Production quality is not superb but definitely on the good side, it’s not outstanding but doesn’t need to be.
But yeah, I enjoy this show so far. I already enjoy stuff when it’s good Yuri bait, but there is some actual substance here. Looking forward to the next episodes.
Episode Rating: 7/10
i said it in ep1 and i'll say it again
girls part = 10/10
(Anis = Lycoris Chisato)
lame prince = 0/10
(i say lame to not say much worse, i don't wanna get banned lmfao)
the fathers talking about their daughters and actually respecting their wishes = actually not bad at all, i kinda hate politics, but that scene was good
now please give me more cute and lovely scenes between the 2 main girls, thanks :D
i loved all the funny "jokes" Anis said about wanting Euphi for herself
and ofc that bed scene was quite interesting, even someone as "perfect" as Euphi, needs someone to take care of her, she even got a hug :D
Loved the ep. As of now this is one of my favorite shows from this season and i'm hyped for what's to come, and besides, can't say no to more yuri after all :P
Also since i'm not an LN reader, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, but what i'm hearing from LN readers is that based on one of the scenes showed in the OP, they may potentially go until vol 4?
Again an incredibly wholesome episode she deserves all the happyness after all the suffering. Her dad did a great job to acknowledge his own mistakes apologizing to her. Very wholesome ending with a wholesome hug and princess (sorry I'm very bad at remembering names) doing everything to make her happy. Both are adorable in their own ways. Can't wait for more wholesomeness.
No idea what you're saying here mate, the manga is just another adaptation of the source material (light novel) and doesn't follow the source material 100%, it says even on Anilist that the manga is just an alternative, the anime follows the light novel, usually no one makes an adaptation after another adaptation...

a few more thoughts on the episode.
I think King Orphanse is a kind person. He allows his daughter plenty of freedom.
and when Euphie thanked Anis on the pyjamas.. Euphie sounded like Kamisato Ayaka from Genshin. I checked the va's, they're not the same.. weird, they sound so much alike just on the pyjama scene.
i'm totally forgot about it so just watched both eps back to back but this is done better than i thought.
no "baiting the viewer by showing action scene of the future arc"
no "start out with otome villainess scene because it is trendy now"
the show actually taking it time to make you get to know about the characters, the camera and dialogue really help emphasize the character feeling without the need to tell you about it, you can tell her brother's frustration when other people talking about his sister or how the awkward relationship between Euphy and her father.
It almost like the director actually care about the story and adjusting it accordingly instead of just cut out part to fit the run time.
