This episode seemed more oriented at anime onlies rather than fans of the saga. It makes sense from a world perspective events, but again they just repeated key points that are only relevant to newcommers.
Thankfully, next episode seems to get into things already.
The first episode was interesting to me, and I wanna see more of it. Yet I'm worried if I might spoil myself for when I get to Cold Steel (although I still have a looong way to go). I've only played Sora no Kiseki FC, and I loved it. Do you think I should stop watching and keep it for later?
Edit: Just watched ep 2, liked it too :)
As a fan of the series, I think you should keep it for later especially if you plan to play through sky and the start of the cold steel arc. Some of Kiseki's strength's are it's worldbuilding, and storytelling in terms of politics and how it's reflected through various events. In my opinion, the anime currently seems to be struggling on how to tell it's story, losing value from newcomers who don't know much about the world, and playing the games would make you understand and feel the importance of the Northern Jaegers and the situation of the various parties at play.
Overall fine. As a person who has yet to play CS3 but has played the two previous arcs (and knows quite much about CS1&2) found really interesting to see Northambrian perspective on the current state of affairs.
However, this kind of pacing seems dangerous for a 12 episodes show. They are barely in March, and Northern War starts in November... this pacing seems more fitting for a series which is going to cover pre-war for 16 episodes, and then spend 8 episodes for the battlefront in Northambria.
last episode i kinda enjoyed the main girl but hated everything else, probably cause this is a sequel to the game that i never even heard about, was thinking about dropping but, i kinda wanted to leave high card as my only drop LOL
now this episode
if nothing else, hearing Jouji Nakata voice is always nice
we see Lavi, our main girl aiming and easily hitting every target, i like how her advice was simply "aim well?" yet everyone said it was a genius advice, that cracked me up :D
that old hero has a cool looking armored dog, what the hell
according to that map, the red part sure is getting big, like 75-80% of the total?
the leader of the red part is not even a noble, but it's the highest rank person, not bad lol
that other guy "my all seeing inteligence" what? lolol
that woman is probably the only interesting part of that reunion lols i like how she talked with them
Iseria with the random appearance, cutely touching Lavi cheeks, kawaii haha
also wtf is that guy's purple hair strings, so random
even that scene with the guy falling down the stairs and the girl laughing at him is more interesting than the politics part :D
ofc the leader guy sleeping and getting his face painted counts too :v
Ravi has a mission and she will do everything for it, you go girl :D
that blue haired guy did something and there was a truck trying to isekai people lol luckily our trio managed to stop it before it killed anyone
meh that mecha, not a fan lol
i keep getting confused about who is which side (doesn't really matter, idc about politics lol), seems like Lavi is part of the North side, and will infiltrate the big empire, trying to learn about the mecha, and the others will have to go too
If you want to check how the full continent looks like, here you go:
Politics is one of series' main selling points. In any case, a (not so) brief summary:
Other key concept: Bracers. They are international non-governmental rangers. They take tasks over most of the continent. In Northambria bracer guild is not active, so they rely on jäegers (mercenaries) instead.
