Crazy how the discussions stopped after Ep 8. That & the ratings so far should be a huge red flag. What did y’all think of this anime? Anyone actually finished it? xD
I know I'm a bit late, but finishing this was a chore tbh.
I don't know who this show would even remotely appeal to. As a fan of the series, I hated how bad it was. I can't even imagine how confusing and mediocre it would look to people that don't recognize the setting/story they assume you already know.
Plus the whole "OMG, look its a character from the GAME! They are from the game guys, look at the cameo!" got really old really fast.
Overall, I wish I could unwatch this and just stick with Rean's monologue from CSIII.
They basically managed to make something so dumbed down that non of the fans cared to watch it. While doing this they also made it so unappealing that new people don't even want to start watching it. Most of the art designs feels like that of a cheap hentai from 10 years ago. The pacing was especially bad. They basically dick around for half the series and then decide they need to have a plot.
It sucks because the main character seems like they could be so interesting if they just gave two shits. I wanted to know more about this event, but they don't even really cover the event at all. I stuck with this show simply because I am a fan of the games. I hopped so much that in the last two or three episodes that something or anything of worth would pop up, but it didn't.
Just go play the games. If the Sky and Crossbell games feel too dated for you go play Trails of Cold Steel 1. If that feels dated go play Trails of Cold Steel 3. Ideally you wouldn't do that, but anything to get a person into the series works for me.
@Cooptroop was it really that bad ?
besides the production being rough since they had to work with it during the pandemic which probably didn't help at all.
