thoughts on ending?
i had to see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b96PZ8Y4LiE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5_RjTgCkro to understand it, at first i thought it was a bs ending but now i will slowly appreciate it since there was foreshadowing to it as seen in the video. i still think demon king tanjiro could of been longer and could of made story full circle by having giyuu killing him after he kills most of the hashira. or just a few chapters before the reincarnation. overall demon slayer is an animanga where my opinion keeps on changing so on my next rewatch/reread it will be my final opinion. one thing i love about it is that how every character is used consistently no-one is sidelined. i wish it was longer but its a fun series. what are your guys' thoughts on the ending? (i will change my scores after the rewatch/reread)
The final arc, imo, was just bad. It was just a boss rush that tried to put a lot of character depth into it but ultimately failed. It was just a slog to read and then it led to a very meh finale. I think it would overall worked a lot better if throughout the series they had put more focus on the characters and their relationships with each other to make the ending believable. It just did not feel right to say 'oh these characters get together despite not really being shown to interact that often in the manga'.
ye i think there should of been a few more arcs before to build the hashiras because their deaths werent that impactful and the backstories made the pacing bad in sunrise countdown and infinity castle, i prefer everything up to hashira training, also demon tanjiro got rushed asf
ye i agree, tanjiro and kanao , nezuko and zenitsu , inosuke and the other girl, they didnt have enough time together to make hit as well, more development was needed but overall demon slayer as a whole was solid but falls flat in infinity castle and sunrise
I don't think the issue is necessarily time but just the way Demon Slayer as a whole was paced. It didn't really have any breaks between arcs so it was very bingeable but the issue was that the arcs were almost entirely action. Compare it something like Mission Yozakura Family which is also a battle shounen but its characters are more fleshed out due to its tendency to have a lot of slice of life chapters focusing on character interaction between arcs leading to more endearing characters to read.
oh ye or hxh chimera arc is another thing close to infinity castle arc which fleshes the characters out before the action, chimera ant arc was so good, ye hashira training had no break for infinity castle, i hope the anime adds extra stuff for swordsman village and infinity castle when they are out
also hxh has good character development between arcs so when the arcs hit, the emotional payoff is there, whereas in demon slayer they just chill there for barely anytime then hunt for the next demon or go straight to the infinity castle
Could've been a 9/10 easily, I loved the buildup to everything and then it was just super rushed which with a lot of good will is a 6-7/10 for me. This needed 3ish more arcs to finish with everything.
ikr or atleast one small arc before infinity castle, i missed the arcs like entertainment where they would fight the upper moons but it would be different from each other, i wanted more spy missions like that, or an arc where muzan sents someone after nezuko before infinity castle
i found it pretty mediocre ngl. the buildup with the infinity castle arc was peak, but the sunrise countdown arc was dragged down by unnecessary and pointless drama to extend the ending. also i feel like muzan's backstory and motivations don't get a good enough exploration. 6/10 ending for me
ikr sunrise countdown was dragged out so much, honestly it could of been 10 chapters instead of it's 20 and they made muzan too op like there attacks did nothing against him for like almost all the chapters and they kept showing hashira backstories during the fight. i agree muzan's backstory needed to get explored more , i hope in the anime they find a way to reduce the length of the muzan fight or it will feel so anticlimactic. i also hope the more story gets added into the epilogue before the reincarnations or extend both and add more to reincarnations as well
i also didn’t like that the whole tanjiro demon phase lasted for 2-3 chapters, like what was even the point of it wasn’t gonna be a full arc?
same the demon tanjiro felt rushed , it should of been atleast 10 chapters or something, my idea was for it to go full circle and giyuu kills him after he damages the remaining hashira
that would have actually been a crazy good ending ngl. giyu brought him into the demon slayers and now he has to finish him off
they probs wont do an original ending like that for the anime they have been 1:1 with the manga so far, and i think the epilogue + reincarnations needed more chapters to it. Also i like your pfp code geass is amazing
