What are your thoughts on this episode?
I loved how they added stuff to Tenza's backstory and gave him more screentime than what we have in the manga, and also more Eizen screentime (not that much tho, but it served it's porpose to show that he's somehow very wise)
I cried again in his death ngl, it was a great episode and I hope that it gets better and better like the manga and Mappa starts improving the animation quality from here on forward 'cause it only gets better
My opinion on the episode:
Last weeks episode was really good as well, but to my surprise I ended up finding myself even more immersed than I was 7 days ago - and I think that says a lot.
I really like the characters this episode focused on and honestly out of all the bonds we've seen so far, I think this trio is my favorite (the whole triangle and all it's dynamics).
Tenza's and Shion's motivations I also found really relatable and pure. Man I really hope Tenza lives, I want to see all these 3 more.
One minuscule negative that stuck out to me was at around ~22:00 minutes when Shion escaped with Nurugai... he puts her down and she cries and pounds on his shoulder out of frustration as she's absolutely miserable (understandably so having just lost her [insert fitting relationship status here]).
Although the voice acting was more than well done, I think that scene suffered because of the animation a little bit.
I mean maybe I'm just picky, but that broke immersion for me for a second.
All in all this show is still absolutely more than worth it, hope they keep up the quality of these last two episodes. Really good stuff.
a decent manga dragged down by bland and inconsistent animation
i hope you guys can enjoy it more then me
This 100%, very disappointing animation. But for some people, reality is hard to accept, and they will praise this anime anyway.
Yeah because animation isn't the only factor you take in when rating an anime, it's also the characters, writing, script, story, plot, theme, picture, camera work and many more. And on top of all that even if the animation isn't on the same level as some of Mappa's other works (like Jujutsu Kaisen) it's still very solid and way better than what we could hope for considering the budget of Jigokuraku, the work quality in Mappa and obviously the incredibly good art the manga has that is extremely hard to properly turn to animation.
there were a few scenes where the animation was noticably off for JUST a bit only i think overall its pretty guud essp gabimaru's fire i think that's animated rly well!!
