Just watched the first episode and i’m already in tears, I’m glad they didn’t decide to skip this arc as many people were advocating for it to be skipped.

Okay, the first actual episode of Mushoku watched. As for the animation, I don't see that it's any different from the first season, only in this episode there was this not-so-pleasant grain effect, I don't know if it was due to the version I downloaded or Studio intentionally added it, either way it's there. It's also interesting that almost the whole episode was just sfx and the voice of the characters, the music only came in during the fight, I don't know if this is some new style, but I like it. The opening music that flew at the end sounded great, I still hope that the opening will be done in the same form as in the first season.

  Mushoku Tensei has always had grain. The only time it wasn't present during Season 1 was the flashback scenes and the Hitogami scenes.

Why in the world would they want this arc skipped? it is so pivotal that we see the pain along with the mental and emotional anguish that Rudeus is going through! I mean yeah he is 32 inside, but he is still a kid as well as he just got dealt a Fuck and Run by the first person he ever had any feelings for. Like yeah Sylphy, but honestly that was just a bit of a kiddy crush at the time. That zombie like appearance of his face reflect what is in his heart as well. 😔

Finally the first real episode and it was great, the development Rudeus had in just one episode was really well done especially in the final scene

Why would some readers not want this arc to be adapted? Its looking great to me

  When it comes to iIsekai, they don't want to be staring at a screen and seeing someone like themselves irl, which is why depressed shut-in, transported to a new world, with a female harem, while being hot, op, and confident, are very popular tropes within this genre, and shounen too. '-'

Obviously, the transportation is self-explanatory, but those others are not objectively needed to make an isekai, they're just popular, for a particular reason? ;-;

Cant imagine why anyone would want this skipped ever, its such an important arc for the overall story.
Just seems like impatient readers just want to only get the payoff without any of the build up essentially ruining the payoff itself.

Man I almost forgot the feeling this show had. The sense of real human drama with well-written characters and a genuine sense of adventure. What fantastic fucking episode to kick the continuation off.

I dont see the take on how the animation quality dipped to me it looks as good as ever. Content-wise while it wasn't the most eventful episode it still has considerable impact with reaffirming Rudy's goal of living the best life possible and moving on from Eris

Awesome episode! As always, I love how immersive Mushoku Tensei is. This arc was amazing and important for Rudeus' development who tf wanted it skipped lol

With my poor memory I also want to ask, did we ever actually get a look before at how more 'normal' parties with normal mages worked? I feel like this is the first time, which adds to the immersion ofc.

  not in the anime but I don't know about the LN either, I think most of them work out but most likely end up disbanding after awhile due to accidents, or party wipes, basically like a relationship it could work out but most of the times won't.
  
  EDIT: The only times we've actually seen another named party is when rudeus and eris were traveling with ruijerd through that town and one ended up disbanding, and the other lost a party member but got a new one.

It's really fun to see Rudeus impressing the people he's around and saving them. The switch from depression to suddenly being full of life kinda gave me whiplash from not watching the first season in a while. Would be an 8/10 but BRO CAN'T GET OVER THE DAMN PANTIES LIKE LET THEM GO YOU'RE NOT 5 AND YOU NEVER WERE (mentally). Rudeus needs to grow tf up now that the initial perv shtick is over.

To the people wondering why people wanted Volume 7 skipped, I think it's probably a combination of everything that comes afterwards being so great and that the volume doesn't really have any importance in the overall story of the series.
Personally, Volume 7 is probably my least favourite of the story but I think it's definitely a necessary addition as the jump from the end of (LN) Volume 6 to (LN) Volume 8 was kind of jarring in the web novel and it has some important character moments for Rudeus which is needed in a story where arguably the biggest theme is how people mature and change over time.

The actual episode though, it was great. The people who say the animation has been downgraded are just flat out wrong.

  I only read the web novel, not the light novel, because at the time I was reading it, only the web novel was fully completed, so when I saw this episode I was kinda confused because I've never seen this. Makes me excited for some new content though.

Just Watched 1st episode and it hit homerun right across the park,The loneliness and depression Rudeus felt after a heartbreak felt real.That anxiety feeling of wanting to do the right thing one moment and just wanting all suffering to end the other rudeus shows was great too.and people who are there to help you get out of it.Loved this Episode.
