Right now I'm on Chapter 712 (Ep 640), and for the most part I've been switching back and forth between the two.
things like Arlong Park, Water 7, Thriller Bark, and the Summit War Saga I watched in anime since it was some of the more plot-relevant arcs
But fish-man island and many small/ boring arcs I decided to switch to manga...
But right now I'm not sure if I should switch entirely to one or the other, I've heard DoFlamingo is a really good villain with actual backstory, but I dont know if it's best handled in anime or manga....
I haven't read the manga and it might not be as bad if you're binging episodes instead of watching weekly but the dressrosa arc has horrible pacing so you might be better off with the manga for that arc at least. There's so many flashbacks, recaps, and panning reaction shots that I got burnt out and had to take a break from the series. The arcs after dressrosa do get bad in some parts but not nearly as bad as dressrosa in my opinion.
I'd just go through the manga without switching back and forth, the anime doesn't get good if not for very, VERY few istances and basically Wano Arc
All the arcs you mentioned I think are way better in the manga (even though Binks no Sake is a must to listen) in one way or another because the pacing of the anime is just plain horrendous, ESPECIALLY in the W7 arc. Dressrosa it's an arc with a lot of dragging per se and it actually has more anime episodes than manga chapters, so you already know lol
I'd recommend reading the manga first. While the anime has its highs, the pacing is terrible after the timeskip. The animation is lackluster too. I heard that got better around the Wano arc, which isn't till around episode 900. After reading the manga you can always watch the whole anime, specific arcs or only the fights. It doesn't get as bad till the Dressrosa arc so you can choose to watch it till then, but I high;y recommend just sticking to the manga first.
