[Spoilers] Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange - Episode 1 Discussion

Thoughts on the episode? It's obviously different from the original Daigo series, but so far, they've managed to keep the heart and intensity I loved about the original. Animation on the exercises and the rescuing were good too, so overall looking to be a good series

Never seen the original but I'm digging the grounded feel and the art and animation is decent. Might be something to keep an eye on.

What I expected: A nice, normal, SANE anime about fire fighting, with maybe some shounen elements thrown in.

What I got: Direction by Roland Emmerich, with special FX by Michael Bay.

I half-expected to see the anime versions of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham walking around.

  This is pretty much what the Japanese government expects should another "Great Kanto Earthquake" strike (Minus the part where the Tokyo Skytree collapses since it is designed to handle big Earthquakes).
  
  Meanwhile, the Nankai Trough Earthquake is projected to wreck every city facing the Pacific in South Japan. The usual planning you need to do when living on one of the most seismically active regions on the Planet.

I mean it looked decent but i think the scene at the start with the whole city burning actually took away my enjoyment a little bit.

  This was my thought as well. But after it became clear it was a teaser to the climax, I'm kind of okay with it.

  Yeah idk what that was about LOL, the original never went that far until the very end and even then, it was just a big building in New York. I wonder what the fuck is going to happen to allow that entire city to be in flames

Well it does look pretty exagewrated, even if they are japanese, but I like the ost and so far the characters so I will decide later when more shows air if this is one I will be following.

I just watched it :D I chose this anime because of topic - firefighters and actors. I like it so far, love the beginning and facial expression.
I was wondering why eyes looks so 90' and now I know haha maybe some time I will watch movie ;)
