This episode had a huge initial impression, with great 2D and CGI animation, along with excellent music. Amongst that performance, I instantly was able to take note of how great these character designs are; such popping colours, outfits, and makeup.
The most impressive part might be that the music is actual music that I'd listen to outside of having heard in an anime.
I'm really looking forward to this season, to the music, performances, and hopefully some drama too! Being that the ending of this episode was the way it was, I wonder how deep this season will continue to go into the struggles and lives of these characters.
I completely forgot this anime would release and I forgot what it was about, so I just went in blind because why not. Damn, I'm hooked. Not just cool designs of the characters, awesome music, amazing 2D and 3D animation- but also a plot line building up which I'm seriously curious about. I really like the opening of this anime and I am definitely going to check out a few more episodes of this!
I am only familiar with some of The Cat's Whiskers songs, so I went into this mostly blind story wise. I'm intrigued for sure. It doesn't hurt that everything (imo) looked and sounded really good too. I do hope Ann is incorporated better in her group's songs later cause she felt very not there, at least on stage.
OH THE WAIT HAS BEEN SOOOO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!
I'm going into this as an existing fan with high hopes, and so far, those hopes are being met. The animation is GORGEOUS, both 2d and CGI, and everyone is animated with such fun expressions - it's such a treat to finally see them moving!! BAE's new song is a banger, of course, they basically never miss. And it's so exciting to see that this seems so far like it will be a faithful retelling of the drama tracks. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the rest of this season is animated. (I'm extra excited too because I've got the opportunity to go see the premiere of the next episode this weekend in Hollywood a few days before it comes out aaaa). Everyone coming into this who's brand new, buckle up because it's going to be a wild, dramatic ride~
I'm predominantly a HypMic fan (gestures at current Jyushi icon) who's heard whispers of Paradox Live, so I wasn't expecting to be so taken by it. I'm mostly an EDM/pop fan when I'm not listening to HypMic on repeat, so BAE at the very least was bound to draw me in, but...I'm a bit hesitant.
Aside from my stronger allegiance to the competition, I was wandering around some of the info pages for Paradox Live and they provide different traumas for the characters. While I get where the characters are coming from as a result of learning about said traumas, I don't want this series to glorify those traumas because that's not a priority of this series as far as I'm concerned (HypMic doesn't do that and that has...among other things...World War III in its backstory, for crying out loud!).
(...Also Paradevi is a bit annoying, but I'll live with that.)
The colors and art are definitely amazing, but unfortunately, not even that along with 96neko's soothing voice is gonna be able to save the story from being... questionable at best. Also, the special effects used during the CGI performance at the beginning really detract from the actual character animation, which actually looked pretty good. Dropped for now.
ive been into paralive for like 2 years by now but know very little about their story just love the characters and the music, this made me feel interested in the drama tracks so ill give them a watch as soon as i can ^^ i agree with one of the other commenters i found paradevi very annoying lol he reminds me a bit of grim from twisted wonderland
The music is really awesome and the animation of the concerts is also great! I fell in love with the songs. Even if the lyrics are really a bit cringy (like: "There's nothing to hide, just open you mind, tonight, tonight, baby!"), but I just enjoy the songs as they are. I think the idea is also good and the realisation as well.
