Jujutsu Kaisen 2nd Season - Episode 13 Discussion "Shibuya Arc"

Holy crap that was insane. I didn't think Yuji would lose but Sakuna was always lurking in the shadows whenever Yuji is in the picture. Toji is back, Gojo is sealed, Sakuna has awakened. This arc is probably on par with York New from HxH, you really have no idea what's gonna happen next and the stakes are through the roof. Plus the lighting in this episode is on point. Another great episode

hand-to-hand combat masterclass. they did justice to one of my all-time favorite fights and my favorite jjk character!!😭😭 the best action episode yet!!
I love how they used the remixed version of the OST that played when Yuuji fought Choso's siblings too and the creative use of black bars at the end was sick!
also I usually don't care about these, but VAs trying to pronounce the english days of the week at the end was so random and funny

  No kiddinggggg. I tempered my expectations because I haven't been personally satisfied with some of the prior episodes, but to see one of my personal favorite fights adapted so well in the anime makes me so happy.

  Let's just say the GOATS who did 'Fate/Apocrypha' and 'Camelot 2' (aka Hakuyu Go team) saved the day. This really shows how talented they are

I like the use of the more dynamic CGI scenes (When Yuij was running to the toilets, Choso losing his mind, etc) similar to Demon Slayer. Hope other shows start to implement them (only if its not overused or done badly)

This is just the warm up just wait, today's episode is the starting point of it getting even crazier. When I first read this in the manga it was a bit confusing and didn't seem to make much sense but by the end of Shibuya all the dots are connected and you'll understand the story a lot better.

MAPPA i dont know how you do it with all the controversy but GOD DAMN!!! was this episode fun to watch; the animation, the voice acting, the sound track and the fight itself were all so perfect.
Also, that post credit scene got me even more hyped for whats to come, waiting a week is too much (⁠个⁠_⁠个⁠)

Good episode considering the schedule although i think it could have been better with a readable action flow especially in some parts during the first half of underground station and some inside the restroom, although the lighting and few cuts were amazing. The storyboard and some of the layouts were also striking, the last few minutes when Choso goes for the final blow till the end of the episode might be my favorite.

Ngl the narration kinda ruins the immersion for me.

  yeah ive heard about it but i dont get it if choso's yuji's brother and he sensed it when he his brothers are going to die, if they share the same blood why cant yuji sense the same?

  As far as I know Yuji isn’t a cursed womb, it could be a cursed womb power and as far as Yuji is concerned he is a only child. I’m not really 100% sure on the specifics but as you understand the other characters the bloodline is a lot clearer

Yuji vs Choso was awesome, probably the best animated fight of the season so far! The hand to hand combat was satisfying to watch too, great episode

the fight was adapted and choreographed perfectly. i love how during the fight not only is the REMEMBER ost playing, but it fades in and out at crucial moments (like in the bathroom when itadori dodged choso’s piercing blood)

Imagine being a janitor and seeing all the chaos in that bathroom. I would've quit right on the spot lol

Very good episode, hope to Toji and Sukuna make more of an appearance in the next episode

omg I was screaaaaaming!!!! Choso looks so beautiful <3 I know I said, that I love some fight, but DAAAAAMNNNN, why's so goood?! it was so cinematic, beautiful, like I would watch some movie in the cinema, awhhhh at the end chamged with black frameds: 16:9 to 4:3 genius. hell, Mappa giving us whole meal

Cool fight, though it amused me in at the begining when he casually manages to deflect the speed of light laser that can slice through scenery with ease.

Also the narration bits were really annoying and broke the immersion, it was pretty obvious what was happening anyway and if they needed to explain it should have him thinking about it in his head not make it like some documentary.

It looks like someone gave a week off, a pizza day and a huge salary raise to MAPPA's animators, because the fight was amazing! I liked the lights and the overall dynamic of the fight. For the narration, it was out of the blue and I didn't understand, who was that old lady as a narrator, but, it was overall okay, I think. All in all, I am hyped for the next episode

  I was specifically referring to the stakes of the arc right now, i think HxH has much better characters and is an overall better show but I couldn't remember another time when I had that feeling when watching an anime except for HxH cause I don't watch that many shonen

The vibrant blue and red lighting in this ep was so visually refreshing since most of season 2 looks washed out. The fight was animated so amazingly. Definitely the best ep of the season so far.
