It gets very Yuri. I've just finished volume 3, but by the end of volume 1, and especially volume 2, I'm pretty sure you will be satisfied if your concerns are the thing you mentioned.
I would even go so far to say that is has the opposite of a yuri bait, a het bait :p

How much is the anime gonna cover at the pace it's going right now? Will we get to see Claire reciprocate by the end of this season?
After 6 of 12 episodes, we're at around 55% of the first novel. So I would say it's a pretty safe bet to assume Season 1 = Volume 1
Light spoiler for Volume 1 and beginning of Volume 2:
At the end of Volume 1, Claire starts to open up to Rae's feeling more and more and everyone starts assuming she starts to develop feelings for Rae. And in the first chapter of Volume 2 she will voice her feelings out loud.
