Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 production decision announced. It will adapt the Culling Game arc
Please let them have a bit more time for season 3 so we don't have to hear about horrendous working conditions again. Those poor animators.
I personally don't care if it takes a year longer as long as we get a quality adaption.
They absolutely need to divide the production line (csm and jjk), or there will be a hellish working conditions even worse than the previous ones.
Dont worry, they already have.

No, they didn't. In fact the production line is the same, still under Keisuke Seshimo. Chainsaw Man s1 shared several key members with those of Jujutsu Kaisen.
The producer has nothing to do with the animators. MAPPA build a whole separate building for the animators to work specifically on CSM. Sharing some key members still doesn't change anything. Y'all have to stop acting like MAPPA is some little studio with no network.
Who said MAPPA is a small studio? It's definitely a company with many contacts, employees, and capital. But that doesn't change the fact that the teams, despite building another division, are closely connected. Do you say AniP doesn't make a difference? It's a crucial role in a production. It can't handle two projects at the same time, constantly rotating between them. According to your logic, by building additional subsidiaries, have working conditions improved? Jujutsu Kaisen S2 faced significant production issues due to limited time, mostly taken away by Chainsaw Man. If the director hadn't been Shōta Goshozono, this season would have already imploded a while ago.
I don't think they will adapt the whole of culling game arc since we got itadori extermination and perfect preparation before it which adds up to 22 chapters and then 63 chapters of culling game arc. This season they adapted a total of 73 chapters in 23 episodes, they would need around 30 episodes to finish culling games.
Hopefully this time they'll have more than 6 months to make it
s2 looked so good i think even 4 months would be enough
bro the staff were already getting overworked to their bones with 6 months to work on it. It's a miracle they even finished each episode. One episode of anime normally takes between 2 to 3 months to make. Most of the episodes were finished less than an hour before they aired. If you give them 4 months they will actually die
can't believe they announced it just hours after the shibuya finale lmao, but i'm so hyped for this arc — honestly surprised they didn't do announce an execution arc + perfect preparation arc special before doing S3 for the culling games
i guess a lot of the CG is fights though, so they could probably still get through the season with good pacing
Here we go again, a hell that seems to have no end. I really don't know how they'll manage to keep in touch with the staff members this time if they don't decide to separate the Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen team. But honestly, I don't think it will happen. Manabu Otsuka's intentions have been clear for a while now. Since becoming the president and CEO of MAPPA studio, he has consistently expressed his desire to increase productivity and maintain good relationships with other companies... so... don't hope too much for improvements in working conditions for the 3rd season or any other projects.
I genuinely feel bad for the animators. The fact that mappa has the balls to still announce a third season while they are in an existential crisis, where most of its animators either resigned or are on the edge of doing so.
Just let the animators take their time. They need to see their families. Most of the fans would be happy even if the project releases late, just as long as the product is well-polished and the animators aren't exploited.
I don't understand, why ppl keep blabbering about announcing another season. it's pretty normal to announce another season/part after ending (e.g. The Eminence in Shadow movie).
it's only ANNOUNCE okay? they only want you to know, that IN THE FUTURE, you will get another series to keep hype, not that animators are doing their job rn, example of this trailer/preview made of manga not actual animation.
I hope Mappa will better doing wity their projects and hire more people and of course give vacation for delegated animators and staff.
can't wait for next season! <3
