I just wanted to say, any scene with Saitama is like 9001% more fun. And unfortunately any scene without Saitama just isn't. I know they need to set up how big and bad the bad guy is but... let's just put it that way. The few seconds before the end credits were the best part about this whole episode.
Also lol @ Genos' "misunderstanding" .
What do you think. Digging S2 so far? I mean I like it but... feels like it needs more Saitama.
Edit: EP3, not EP2 >.>
I hope Saitama gets recognized this season. The guy just one-shot the so called "hero hunter" without even knowing he was the one.
as someone who's read the manga, it already has far more saitama than the manga does, and i'm living for it. the scenes with saitama in are the b e s t . i'm not going to spoil anything, but the focus of this season is less on saitama but more on all the other stuff going on. it's still very good imo, just takes a different turn from season 1.
Is it just me that feels so disappointed about the first three episodes ? The animation is crap, I expected so much better from this season :'(
The animation isn't going to get any better. The anime is just average directorially. The manga looks great, so I recommend that, but if you don't like manga then don't expect this Season to get any better. They might squeeze out a competent finale but the production schedule and staff just ain't there to make things happen for OPM this season.
I already read the manga, and I really enjoyed this season's story, that's why I really hoped it would be nice.. I wanted to watch some epic fights, like in season one. I guess we'll have to wait season 3 then !
Tbh, I wouldn't expect much from a 3rd Season either. Even if it goes back to Madhouse, their studio is still in shambles. It would be a similar result as JC's Season 2 is right now, most likely.
The first season was an anomaly, they managed to bring a ton of Bones and freelance talent onboard to help out, on top of having a good series director. Unless they do give it to Bones or some other studio that's doing well (which probly ain't gonna happen), OPM anime will never see the highs of the first season again.
If we actually get season 3. I wouldn't even care about animation quality at that point. Seriously, an anime getting season 3 is not that common. Though I wish they give it to Studio Bones or maybe somehow get Shingo Natsume working on it.
I don't actively care, per se, but I'm not going to watch a season 3 if it's worse than the manga. There's no point in an anime if it isn't an improvement over the source material, or at least derivative in an interesting way.
They had to make a CGI-banana. huh
But since we can't do anything about the animation, I'm not going to bitch about it too much. (But seriously, even I could do better job at the animation direction. It's the small things. At least we have the manga.) The plot is going to cover a bit where the animation is lacking at least.
We'll be getting one of my favourite fights in the next episode so can't wait for that one. Metal Bat vs EC and Metal vs Garou. Hell yeah, here I come! :D and these other really cool fights in episodes 10-12. Endmatch with EC and Garou vs Genos &Bang & Bomb etc.
Inbetween we're going to have the good ol' tournament arc that belongs to every anime. :)
For me the tournament arc means Suiryu and Suiryu is kinda cool. Meanwhile the MA starting to rise and we get the random battles between it and the HA.
One good thing I can point out is Garou's voice actor. The voice really fits him: 10/10.
Also read the manga ppl! ;)
As for me, I'm really enjoying season 2 so far! I've been waiting quite a while to see the animation with some of those scenes and it hasn't disappointed me so far! Especially the scenes where Garou encounters Saitama! Lmao!
About a week ago, I finally caught to to current with the web comic, which is the actual canon for the manga and anime and I'm super excited to see the rest of season 2! Of course, I'm not going to spoil for anyone, but I will say that this season will shed some light on to some VERY important plot points!
Also, the web comic is back from its 2 year hiatus so anyone who can't wait for the episodes to come out, I'd recommend giving it a shot!
