OMG!! I'm so happy to see my BA students (waifus <3) get animated! I had a grin and was in tears throughout the whole episode Lol
As a day 1 player for Both JP and Global Server, I am delighted with how well this first episode came out! I really appreciate the attention paid to the characters' facial expressions, especially Serika. It was done exceptionally well <3

Is the game "required reading" for this series? Because I don't understand this world at all yet, and I was kind of missing more exposition.

  This is how it was in the first chapter of the game, give it a few more episodes to know more. But if you want more in-depth details, the game is also worth playing.

  There was supposed to be a prologue which was in the game so hopefully, they show that in the next episode to explain more :)

  This animation kind of skips the "prologue" chapter which gives a little more detail of the world

  I think next episode will show reclamation of Sanctum Tower (prologue), cause we can see Yuuka's Hasumi's Suzumi's and Wakamo's halos in the opening

I thought the episode was amazing and it was all that I wanted and more!! But if there's one gripe I have it's that the first episode seems to have skipped the whole prologue from the game on how Sensei became Sensei. Hopefully that is shown in the second episode!

  Considering that we can see halos of students who helped us during prologue + Wakamo, I think there is a good chance we will see it

Sadly my favorite girls won't have any screen time (if ever at all) for a good while considering we're starting with Abydos, but I thought the coloring and animation looked good. I was really worried about the anime quality, but the first episode didn't disappoint me.

  We still have hope on how well the game is doing revenue-wise. It would be great if they get to animate the whole main story of the game.

  true, but even if we were to get more seasons some of them are so far away like Shuro, Reisa, the highlander twins, Kuzunoha as some examples... but all BA girls are cuteee so I'm just glad we got an adaptation in the first place.

  Yeah, part 2 is far off. I'm hoping they adopt the whole part 1 of the story and if it all goes well then part 2 would be great!

  i literally haven't played the game or consumed any story and this is pretty fun so far

Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK is this world supposed to be?!?!
A Postapocalyptic world, where Schools/Academies rule the Cities and Schoolgirls have to defend themselves with Shotguns and Rifles.
Why are all the City folk Animals?!
Why do all the Girls have a Halo above their heads?!
Why is everyone acting, like it's a slice of life show?!
Why does no one get injured, even when you shoot them point blank into their Face?!?!
Is this some sort of heaven, where no one can die and the angels are school girls?

  Only the Abydos school district went through a tragedy and thus was covered in sand.

pacing of this first ep felt way off honestly even as someone who played the game before, i really hope they arent just going to try to stuff everything into one season like this

Ah every moment was amazing!! I loved it so much. The animation, character expression, the colours, and SENSEI!!! I fan girled so hard when I saw him haha. This is def a top favourite of the season. I do personally feel like you'll get a lot more out of this if you're already deeply familiar with the game and story. I'm a long time player so I loved this so much!

If anything, this just made me want to play the game again. I played a bit on launch, but dropped it quite a while ago.

That was a good start.

The beginning was honestly as cryptic as in the game so I'm pretty happy with that. Just dropping right into this world and getting familiar with the Abydos girls and their situation. Getting a tutorial type battle out there. Also covering how these girls are absolute tanks. Can take bullets to the face and it's more painful than you know...fatal. Shiroko got absolutely merciless there which was really satisfying.

Something really and truly satisfying in seeing these characters in motion. Shiroko looking absolutely cute throughout the episode. But nice to see Hoshino and the others as well. Lot of little details and plot points dropped in this one while setting up the story to really roll on from here.

Also that OP is absolutely gorgeous. The song was great and I've got no complaints there. But they really poured the heart and soul into the visuals. Someone could make a frame by frame breakdown of this OP to go over all the details and foreshadowing. Some shows can only get by with using in-episode material to cobble together something resembling an OP. And some OPs are almost cinematic in how good they are. This is certainly on the latter side.

Glad they didn't do anything stupid like cutting out Sensei from the story. Without that character it simply wouldn't work.

enjoy it so far, specially the MC, many of gacha to anime rarely have the MC at all and often leave them faceless and speechless so one that actually confident looking like this is already win me over.
That say, why did they made Hina so tall in that one scene lol, she is only 142cm

You can so obviously tell it's based on a gacha mobile game, but if nothing else, I'm at least pretty intrigued to learn about whatever is going on in this setting.

If I'm not playing the game at the moment, this episode definitely would've been a drop for me. Feels like they could've refined the art style and animations a bit more, while also making the episode less vague and filled with exposition dumps. Hope it only gets better from now on.

well, as someone who plays the game, i love it
but if i didn't play, it probably would have felt a little worse lol

can't believe they showed Terror at the start, wtf ( i d'dn't even read that part of the story but i played the event fight)

well, not much to say apart from... it's lovely to see charas we liked for years get animated
also some fun references to the game outside of the story stage... like Nonomi's credit card or Arona's sleeping animation at the end

well anyway, no matter if the anime does well or not, i'm gonna give it a 10 regardless :p

I do agree though that if you don't follow the game, you most likely won't find this adaptation that entertaining right off the bat, but you might be able to come around to it.

As someone who has played some of the story mode before the releasing of the anime, I'll admit they're doing a pretty terrible job at establishing what exactly the setting is supposed to be. And when they try it translates into pretty indigest and boring exposition.

Idk how anyone who hasn't played the games is supposed to feel any investment. But I'll still watch it because who knows, it might get better.

  Sadly no. They are focusing on Volume 1: The Foreclosure Task Force. Hopefully, we get more seasons for Volumes 2 and 3.

Hoshino is cute and funny. ^^

watched the episode from beginning to end. Feels like a standard harem anime.

DROPPED, not really in the mood for this kind of show.
