KyoAni where is the belly!!!!!!!!!!
Well i like the colors but its for sure my least favorite. That upward pan shot has a bit of error in a frame with the staff so hope it gets fixed in the blu-ray.
For a first time storyboard and direction, i liked this episode even though episode felt like it included buncha quirks from other directors of the studio and its past work also the flow felt a bit iffy at times. Still very good, i loved their approach with compositing at specific scenes alot.
Oh i genuinly forgot Shu was the vice president, man barely has any presence also KyoAni if these scenes actually take place then maybe show them so i can give a single shit about such a filmsy formed "relationship"
The bedroom scene was easily my favorite part, animation and little transitions was nice. I liked sally, would've been a bit better to see how she was convincing rest of the other 1st years to stick with the club then or maybe not as KyoAni works mostly keep it subtle.
I'll step up to the role of hater and say that you @MaitetsuisFukami is wrong in multiple of your thoughts about the episode, and your comments about Reina are extremely gross.
I refuse to elaborate, like a proper hater. Everyone besides this person, have an amazing day!
That aside, the directing is strong as always, KyoAni still slays with those amazing backgrounds and overall I'm very satisfied with what they delivered
Shu was the vice president, man barely has any presence
None of the male characters have. CGDCT sells better
also KyoAni if these scenes actually take place then maybe show them so i can give a single shit about such a filmsy formed "relationship"
IIRC, in the movie Kumiko said something about putting their "relationship" on halt to focus on the Nationals, but I don't know if it meant a romantic relationship or anything else lost in translation. Maybe it's better in the novel OR it's an KyoAni original added for scenes like this one.
For some seconds I thought that by vice-president she was referring Reina and basically was saying aloud what everyone wanted to happen. Then I recalled she's not the vice-president and well, I still have hopes that KyoAni betrays the author mindset and makes its way to make yuri bloom. I'll keep biting the bait until the end.
Theres a reason why most sports/intensive teams have split teams, one for the experienced and inexperienced. As someone who did band in high school, we'd have a main performing team (where everyone regardless of experience auditioned a spot for) as well as a non-performing team (which consisted of those that didn't qualify through said auditions).
Of course, some 1st years quit due to the sometimes harsh exercising and general work done to get better. We'd always try to encourage them to stay.
I really do appreciate the idea of having kumiko as the mediator for the group members, we always had a few of those kinds of people around to lend an ear.
People like reina definitely existed, and her attitude is accurate. Sometimes you just have to be blunt in order to make the effort to succeed (in this case, going for gold), so I never thought of her way as being wrong.
Overall, the character interactions and the worries/anxieties the newer members feel is all 100% true, and I am glad Kyoani is working hard to keep that authenticity.
