Poor old man xD
More cringe and "cOmEdY".
Skippable episode.
I think I'm going to go insane with the amount of you complaining about the comedy, its made for kids. of course you're not going to find it funny.
its made for kids
Well...people keep talking about how the MC is not a kid like in the other battle shonens...so I'm sorry...for expecting at least less "comedy" than Demons Slayer or MHA.
just because a MC is not a kid does not make it not for kids. shonen shows are for kids. its in the name. demon slayer, MHA, dragon ball, one piece, digimon and kaiju no. 8 are all made for kids, specifically young boys. I mean, I dont like the comedy too, but you know. I can recognize that I'm not the target demographic.
like, I'm not trying to talk down to you, but man. its tiring watching every single thread about this show having you complaining about the comedy. its designed for children.
like do you enjoy the show? are you just one of those anime fans who just watch anything even though you dont care for 99% of it?
all I'm asking is for you to actually say something about the show! why are you interacting with a thread about a show you are quite clearly not enjoying?
I'm rather interested in talking to someone if possible about the anime thus far. My opinions is i'm not finding it all that enjoyable currently, but would love to hear the opinion of someone else. Especially one who disagrees with my opinion of the Anime thus far.
One gripe I had was the cliche reasoning about why Kafka shouldn't reveal his Kaiju form to the public. Instead of outright completely dismissing the idea because the government would supposedly lock him up to experiment on him, they should've thought a lot more on it. Perhaps, they could've made a plan to show his prowess and usefulness to everyone. Even if they just ignore it, Kafka's Kaiju form would eventually be found out by more and more people. I don't even believe anyone on the human side can stand up to him power-wise.
This my sound rather peculiar but i was super interested during episode one. I thought that the story would revolve around a clean-up guy and showing how important the cleaning up side of defeating Kaiju is. I was a little disappointed that during episode two it turned into an anime about a guy who gains OP powers to fight Kaiju. That doesn't always mean the anime will be bad per-say. But i would've loved if either he had no special ability and still made it into the team of Kaiju exterminators or the story simply followed the clean-up team.
Also i haven't found any of the comedy in the show remotely funny thus far.
I think the show had its solid moments, with ep 2 being the peak imo.
After that I felt that it started drifting towards a more generic premise from a interesting plot.
As you had mentioned, I was interested in how they mix up the cleaning work with the Kaiju business, and that how he uses his kaiju powers. One gripe is they mention that people have seen Kaiju no.8 in ep 2 I think ? but do not show us instances of him defeating kaijus.
Finally, as much as the music is nice, and animation good, the plot feels generic with the comedy not even making it fun to watch as a power fantasy shounen. We literally had unknown op power, and a tournament arc.
TLDR: I agree with most of your points, except the plot as I feel the author can still take it in an interesting direction
Thanks for the interesting comment friend.
Also i completely agree that there is a possibility for the anime to go in an interesting direction. However for me i don't see it happening for whatever reason. That being said i would adore if i was surprised at just how good it get's. I also agree that it's a battle to watch it as a power fantasy type anime because of the attempt at comedy throughout.
Okay I am losing my mind over Kikoru's line during the training for no reason LOL "both of your scores combined are still worse than mines" I mean yeah???? the point is to get a lower time why would adding up 2 times together somehow beat a lower time LOL
WHY DOES MY MIND STICK TO LITTLE THINGS LIKE THIS
Overall pretty good episode. I am trying to ignore the ai generated background art.
CGI and AI generated are two different things.
Yes AI is a type of CGI, but CGI is not AI
Some of the backgrounds are literally ai generated. Not all of them, but mainly the wide cityscapes you'll see how the textures look off in spots. Anyone who is familiar with the software would be able to tell almost immediately. Take a close look
can you show me where

How do you know this is AI?
Just because his art style is as "clean", doesn't mean it's AI
Search up Shinji Kimura, cityscape/industrial is his area of expertise
