Pretty good episode, and the animation isn't half bad.
And it's pretty cool seeing Kafka managing to shine in his own way
Also oh shit

Is there a relation between cleaning staff and Kaijuus? hard to be just a coincidence.
I also like how Kafka is useful even without his hidden power.
Comedy is also on point and not too annoying as the current trend of comedy in Anime. Looking forward to the next episode!
The comedy is usually fine for me but it felt a bit forced this episode.
Only this episode???!
What...did you skipped the other previous 5 episodes!?
forreal it's forced every episode.
You didn't watched Bleach...but even I, a Bleach TYBW hater (Not a Bleach 366 hater) will appreciate the and really understand why they kept the "gore" in TYBW and also on top of that removing some "funny" bits that was present in the manga (Don't know how many they removed because I don't read manga/manhwa but I know that they removed some...I'll check late).
Know when to do "comedy" (in like a beach episode or in like a "slice of life episode"...but not on the battlefield.
sorry for my english (like always)
EDIT: What I also don't like about this anime is the loli with daddy issues ("most powerful" young girl from "this generation" "falling in love" with the classic pathetic at the beginning but with a "hidden" power MC. [But I thing this is a result of me slowly getting older (28) and getting less depressed and more interested in gardening stuff and maybe not a "flaw" in the actual anime.
I'm just more negative because I'm transitioning from a passion to another...
great episode, great animation, im amazed that the honju was in 2d most of the time, great pacing, and it builds for the next episode pretty well, aside from that it was a bit weaker then the last episodes, but it was still great, the way they showed 9 in the end of the episode got me really hyped, great cliff hanger
I'm trying to understand why there are so many people with strong opinions about this particular anime, even though it is the second most popular anime this season on the site. It seems like there are a lot of people who dislike this anime. Even after that I don't see that this anime deserves all of this hate and for me I feel it's interesting and the story still in the beginning so it's not bad so far
the anime aint bad but the hype that has built around it since the very first preview was so high and so far it looks just a mid seasonal, nothing less nothing more.
When u going to create such high expectations, its hard to really respect those expectations, therefore its easier read more negative comments
The people who aren't liking it are just gonna be more vocal than those who are enjoying it, that's how these always go. If you're enjoying it just ignore all the haters.
I know I was just thinking if there is another thing that I didn't know that make the people hate it that much but for me it's an above avg anime
Couldn't tell you myself. I don't get the extreme reactions either, so far it's been pretty mid to me but I'm also not a huge battle shonen fan to begin with. Was hoping the kaiju focus would appeal to me more but meh. But I don't think it's offensively bad like how a lot of people have been reacting to it lmao.
It is the sole definition of actual generic between 'shounen/seinen' mediocre stuff.
I think people are getting tired of the same boring premises with the same boring MC with weak personalities but great powers. Kaijus, wizards, knights, ninjas, feudal japan swordsman, taisho era swordsman. It's all the same repetitive shit...
Another solid episode. I feel like the next few episodes will really make it or break it for me.
Coming from someone who hasn't read the source material, I think the only thing that's bothering me is how Kafka's usefulness on the team is going to be handled. The way I view it he's rather going to:
Here's hoping it's the third one.
So has the series switched entirely switched to this competitive, high school-like class of 'officers'?
It seems like the show started off with this unique premise on the outside of a Kaiju story, and suddenly we're doing a generic training arc complete with classroom stereotypes and test score measurements.
OMG IT'S OVER 9000 9.8.
