Maybe my favorite ep so far but I'm not sure how much content they skipped this time though.
This may sound like me being a negative Nancy but I don't like this episode much. They skipped so much content that honestly I'm not even sure they clearly defined what Tinasha's relationship with Cuscul and its "king" is. I'm not even sure I could enjoy this anime if not for having read the manga. And since the anime has now overtaken it I'm not sure how much I can enjoy of it now.
never read the manga or LN. I believe they showed all they needed to of their relationship. Betrothed, they were friendly. two factions appeared, he needed more power. stab stab, betrayal. her power went on a rampage and wiped out pretty much everyone else while he escaped. took her 400 years to find him and get revenge. that was more than enough explanation for me.
Maybe my standards are just low, but this episode was actually pretty enjoyable. It still feels like they skipped stuff, but at least I didn't feel confused the whole episode.
That being said, the pacing so far confuses me even more now, as this kind of felt like a end of season sort of episode, yet we still have 5 episodes left.
rushed content aside, I liked it the series. what I do find funny is this series is the exact reason why I have a pretty adamant stance on why I usually don't read manga or ln. saw a lot of people whining about missing stuff. for me, I do not read a manga unless I know for a fact the anime will never continue it. I will read if I know it's something they just wont adapt, like No Bra or If my Wife Became an Elementary School Student. If I DO read a manga, I won't watch the anime because I just don't have time to rewatch what I already got done reading.
There are elements of the episode I enjoyed. The visuals and action were decent enough. And I do like the main characters. Tinasha getting to pull off some cool stuff in this one.
But this arc just feels like all a house build with shoddy foundations. It can look fine on the surface, but that's about it. So little context was given in the past couple of episodes that I wasn't even sure what to care about in all this. Not even sure if I simply wasn't paying close enough attention or if supporting characters really were being flung at us with almost no explanation about who they even are!
I get not every adaptation wants to spend 5 or 6 episodes on a single volume. But there is a point where too many corners can be cut!
Haven't read the original, but sadly it's clear this is skipping so much content, so we've had an entire new nation founded, Tina's backstory and multi-country war arc just casually setup and finished in a whole two episodes, with a bunch of new unintroduced characters appearing too.
A shame as it's an enjoyable series with nice concept.
That felt really really rushed, they just crammed all that into one episode. Even the manga hasn't been released until here so I don't know how much they skipped this time.
Also the spirits of Tuldarr, wtf were they. Im sure there's more to them than what was shown, but they should've just completely skipped it the anime if that was all they were gonna do.
Also really like the OP and ED! Sounds really nice imo.
