I never thought I'd be starting the conversation, but here we are...
It's a middle of the road romance with nothing overly special about it. Of course a few cute moments get thrown in and the OP feels tailored to the show's theme, which I can appreciate. Other than that, I didn't come in with high expectations and I didn't come out feeling super disappointed.
If you ARE picky about what romance anime you watch, I'd suggest waiting a bit longer into the season. After all, we just started.
(Also, this show makes me scared of what parasocial relationships might look like in the future)
Also, can I just say, this gives me vibes of Chobits. For any other Chobits watchers out there, let me know what you think.
The people who made this said, “It’s been over 20 years, nobody remembers Mahoromatic (RIP Studio Gainax) & Chobits, so let’s remake both shows at the same time!” I wonder if Mina’s power switch is the same as Chi’s (if you know, you know)? I’ll give not-Chobits/Mahromatic a chance for the time-being.

Futurama showed how it'd look like https://youtu.be/IrrADTN-dvg
It's cute, but I can't help but feeling bad for the guy, LOL. Typically, I enjoy everything I watch at least a little, and this is no exception, but I'm already cringing for him.
I'm not interested in spoilers, but I wonder if she's actually somewhat sentient, or eventually grows more sentient. (like far down the manga, not anytime this season, probably) If she stays "without emotions" and a mostly non-sentient state, I think I'd feel even worse for Takuma than I already do. This first episode feels like a pity piece.
I like the character design, though. The faces are silly.
If he's happy, I'm happy.
Edit: This episode hasn't even been out 24 hours, and it's already tanked to a 59% average score here on AniList. I tend not to care about the ratings here on AniList, but still, that was fast. I'm interested on seeing how it'll fare on Anikore and MAL in a day or two, since MAL usually aligns more with my POV, and Anikore tends to average the two out.
I definitely feel the same as a lot of people here, so far, this show isnt for me. Main character is annoying only justified by the fact he was drunk for most of the episode. I dont think he's terrible but even after a first episode of an idea of who he is, he really is a blank slate outside of the fact he's lonely.
I dunno, its not terrible, i'll probably keep watching, i like to finish what i start, but i can see this getting super drawn out. It felt like they were running out of ideas already and this is episode 1.
We'll see anyways, maybe it picks up
i mean, it was kinda cute at moments, i know i'll watch obviously ep2/3 but i'm not sure if i can enjoy this type of anime for 12 episodes lol
i like her hardworking and honest personality robonality (?) but i'm not sure if i like the design, from the closed mouth to how they show her metalic neck and stuff
tho, based on the ending song, maybe she will use different clothes and... even show emotions
i could see myself marrying a robot too since i'd have no chance (or patience) to have a relationship with a woman ... "xD"
