Comedy wise, I think this might be my favourite anime of the season, especially if it continues down this route of execution.
As a fan of raw and unfiltered comedy and VTubing, there’s nothing I could possibly dislike; that’s maybe unless you are someone big on immersion, or rather, the overexaggerated nature of this adaptation's idea of immersion.
I like the final style of result that they arrived on for the actual virtual performance itself. I loved the illustrations, and that the full expressive range is toned down some in the final product in an attempt to better integrate it into the rest of the production. This can be a matter of personal preference, but it very much looked that this was the intention for this episode and audience. They could have either gone for lighter parameter intermediates (in nizima, these should be scale, smoothing, etc.) to better ease the tracking amplification effect, or in some cases, it looked like they were tackling it at the source and just opting for manual IPC to control the input for simpler motions. (in nizima, these could be auto playback breaks, scripted sequences, etc.) In either case, it blends very well, and didn’t look out of place at all, which can be an easy mistake to make and is often practically always present when meshing mediums such as these two.
This project is relying on Live2D’s very own nizima LIVE for tracking and projection, with additional support and directorial privileges granted to Live2D JUKU.
