My bro doesn't want to parry wealth and doesn't taking any rewards;(
The only problem with this I have is that everyone is talking in such a round about way, just so that he doesn't get, what actually happened. If the king just said "we have to reward someone, who has slain the mighty minotaur who even imperial knights couldn't " it wouldn't be so painful to watch how clueless he is.
The show makes the MC look genuinely stupid. There’s no way in hell he watches several knights die right before his eyes to a monster, proceeds to beat that monster BY HIMSELF and then thinks „no biggie, that monster was really weak anyways“
My suspension of disbelief is really being challenged here…
It's definitely tough to work with. Somehow he's managing it. But I can't wrap my head around watching that thing slaughter numerous armed individuals and go "well it was just an angry cow I guess." There's plenty of elements I get. Was isolated much of his life, really bought into the "you need two solid skills to be worthwhile" thing and that's fine. But that scene and his warped logic required to make him think he's nothing special is a bit much.
It was even more painful when Ines said the word "king" and he had no reaction. Maybe in japanese she used more neutral word that didn't imply the leader of the nation? But still, it's pretty much too long for him to be so clueless, even though I understand why King may not feel the need to intoduce himself to the people, assuming that people know who he is.
The start of this ep confirmed my worries, dude really saw solders getting butchered by a Minotaur and right after killing it assumed it was a cow?
If they were killed BEFORE he got there then sure maybe I could be lead to believe he thought they were killed by something else since he believes he is so weak and was able to beat the Minotaur, but he was watching them getting absolutely mauled.
Screams to me that this anime is going to have bad writing just to keep up a dumb charade.
I think I love this show...
what if a dumb guy lol
There's all this serious stuff going on around him and he's like can't wait to go shovel shit then have a bath
Like he's literally thinking about how the sword he's been given might be special then my guy immediately gets sidetracked by a minor improvement to his everyday routine lol
It was a good episode. It's not unreasonable that the main character doesn't understand a lot of things. He grew up outside the city, and he obviously doesn't know even the simple things that most people know. And the people he meets assume that he knows them. Some people might find that frustrating, but I find it hilarious.
Also, since this is the OLM studio working on this anime, I expected the story to be slower paced. I even think they're already working on season 2.
