AniList Bugs and Issues

The purpose of this thread is to provide users information when a bug or issue with the site has been identified and acknowledged by the AniList dev team. We will attempt to update this as we have information, whether it's to share workarounds until the bug has been fixed, information on when the bug will be fixed (assuming the cause has been identified but it can't be fixed immediately), etc.

We will not go through and list previously fixed bugs; this will just be for bugs identified from the date of this posting (August 19, 2024). We may move this to another page in the future, but until then, this thread will suffice. This post will be updated to reflect the current state, but replies will be made when the thread has any updates.

Bugs to be fixed:

• Browse/search not returning results when certain filter options are enabled (19/8/2024)
• When switching between your anime/manga list pages and trying to reorder lists, it may display the other groups lists (anime lists despite looking at your manga lists) (19/8/2024)
  • Workaround: Refresh the page before reordering lists
• Unable to post a review on an entry if you have previously posted a review and it was deleted by yourself or moderators (19/8/2024)
  • Workaround: DM a moderator
• Airing episode notifications not being sent out if the airing time ends in a 5 (for example: 8:55) (19/8/2024)
  • Workaround: The site will be listing these as airing at XX:X6 until further notice
• New anime/manga and other notifications for entries not being sent out if an entry is on too many people's lists (19/8/2024)
• Forum replies can disappear or get listed out of order (19/8/2024). A potential fix is pending review
• When updating multiple episodes/chapters for a single entry in quick succession (typically only when using a 3rd-party app), instead of properly merging, it may create multiple new statuses. If this happens, please be mindful of where comments/likes are before removing one of them (19/8/2024). A fix is pending review
• Entries may appear multiple times in your list (19/8/2024)
  • Workaround: Record any relevant dates, scores, # of rewatches, notes, etc., and then remove both entries from your list and re-add the entry with any relevant information.
• Deleting custom lists can shuffle the contents of the other custom lists in rare circumstances (30/7/2025)
  • Workaround: Avoid deleting custom lists unless absolutely necessary. Empty lists don't cost you anything and can be reused later. If you were already affected by this bug, you can try to unscramble them by creating new custom lists, but there unfortunately isn't a guaranteed fix
• List activities merging into one another can make their comments and likes disappear under very rare circumstances (06/03/2026). A fix is pending review
• Nested forum comments can take a very long time to post (06/03/2026). A fix is pending review
• Forum thread categories often fail to load their respective threads (06/03/2026). A fix is pending review
  • Workaround: Click on "New Threads" before selecting a forum category.
