Trapped lmao. Although I still don't really get where the single wagon with tainted wheat came from.
I still wonder if its really better for the village in the long run, I mean they have the sweets now but is it really better?
I really thought we would somewhat reach the ending and there wouldn't be much more left :')
Season 2 already announced! See you there again in a year or two :)
Ookami to Koushinryou MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF 2nd SeasonOverall I’m satisfied with the remake. I was not worried about the story, because the source material was good to begin with.
My only issue is that, ironically, studio Passione showed a lack of passion while animating it. What’s the point of making a remake and giving it a mediocre animation? Spice and Wolf deserved better.
Hopefully season two will make some improvements.
I can't disagree with the animation part. I don't know what their budget for this remake was but animation wise it was certainly not very good when compared to many other recently released anime.
It was still a great watch for the story definitely affected my final rating of it. They could have done so much more with this.
not the budget, the staff

It was a great journey, these past 6 months. I've been watching this anime from episode 1 and I loved it. It had it's flaws but overall it was good.
As someone who hasn't watched the original spice and wolf or read the novels, this was my introduction to this series and it did a great job. I will probably watch the original some time later.
Ahhh where to start.
I liked the little scene in the end with Holo pointing out the story is far from over. Honestly the whole season felt like visiting an old friend. While some small details weren't to my liking (I especially don't really like Holo's wolf form here, it's too cute and dog like in my eyes compared to the original show) I had a really great time. And this time they stuck much closer to the source material. I am glad we got this remake (who would've thought after such a long time).
I remember visiting the Dokomi anime convention in Germany this year and someone was playing the opening of the first show. The fact, that to this day I remember the song (I am almost 38 now) is a proof of how much I already liked Spice and Wolf back then (and yes I was just sitting close by and enjoying it). Not only were we blessed with this 25 episode strong remake, a second season is also in the making. I really hope, that they'll cover the whole story (not sure if two seasons will be enough and we'll get three in the end). But to see this great story finally being animated in a way, that does it justice makes me happy. Who knows maybe in a couple years we'll even get an adaption of Wolf and Parchment. But that's a story for another day. Right now I am a bit sad, that Spice and Wolf is over. See you around at season 2!
As someone who didn't watch/read the original, I loved this anime. It was a rough start for me personally, but I found myself getting more and more invested in the story. Hell, during the arc where Lawrence was in danger of "losing" Holo, I could not stop stressing about what was going to happen. Anime made me feel, 10/10.
did this remake cover both season 1 and 2 of the earlier anime?
almost all antagonistic forces in this entire show made no sense, and the ones that did were easily solvable but the easy solutions were either avoided for no reason, or put off for no reason to create fake drama and I found it mostly boring. I still liked the show and awooga cute wolf girl. but I dont think its a classic or all that much to write home about like some.
