Honestly, not telling Hina was a jerk move. Hiding things from your closest friends is never a good thing; trust is very easily broken and it takes ages to build. Did he have any good reason for keeping it a secret? I can't recall.
I'm probably in the minority and it's never going to happen—childhood friends never "win"—but I'm linking Hina more than Chinatsu...

BLUE BOX EP6 - Wish Me Luck
Honestly I would personally feel betrayed if I were in Hina's place
I feel you, Hina-chan! I know how it feels.
The curse of being a "born-genius"
Eh, Chii-san, you spoiled my mind
Couldn't make thread on time due to festive celebrations :)
That took me through an emotional roller coaster of being sad and being happy. And the shots of the character smiling during emotionally touching scenes melts me.
I already like Hina before, but this just makes me like her even more. The characters are all super likeable, which makes it really enjoyable to see each of their journey.
Spoilers down below for manga.
As I said before we are about to go through the worst part in this manga imo. This whole arc almost made me drop the series at point because of how infuriating it gets at points and simply how bad I found the writing at points. I honestly feel bad for Anime onlys because I can only imagine what some of the comment sections for later episodes will be like LOL. I Know this doesn't really "spoli" much for Anime only peeps but I still didn't even want to insinuate anything that might make them think some things so I wanted to spoiler tag this regardless.
Not that Taiki and Chinatsu had a big lead or anything, but Chinatsu stepping away is not the development I wanted, even temporarily. There's almost 20 episodes left, though, so that's plenty of time for things to change, and I guess it's nice to keep anticipation high.
I feel for Hina more, but as a role, I'm still not fully rooting for her because I like the Taiki–Chinatsu pair more.
Not that I don't like Taiki, but I think Hina deserves more than to be fighting for him?
The glasses friend apparently likes her or something, but I didn't like the way he kinda exposed Taiki for Chi with the aquarium thing.
I wish Hina would start to like someone else, like another cool character so we get 2 cores on the story (I really like multiple core romances xD)
And with this episode, we start into the part of the series this mangaka loves to do and fails at each time. It's a damn shame cause this episode reminded me of how endearing they can make Hina as a character be. I remembered why i liked Hina for a bit before her character gets completely destroyed for me.
boy oh boy... where do i even start?
seems like i was underestimating our Hina, she might ACTUALLY be best girl
being cute as hell wasn't enough, she had to be the most relatable character so far as well
being in a position where you get tremendous amount of pressure on your shoulders and feel like you're all alone in the world to handle problems no one else can solve for you, yeah believe me i've been there (still am)
bad move from Taiki to not trust her and tell her earlier about Chinatsu, pro move to be there for her and tell her EXACTLY what she needed to hear at the right moment AND from the right person
in the previous thread i was worried she might end up being two many steps behind, well idk for Taiki but she caught all the way up to my heart and i have a feeling it's only the beginning
given Chinatsu's state of mind and understanding of the situation i'd even go as far as to say that the tables may have turned in Hina's favor, but we'll see how it goes
