Last time it was Nemu, now it’s Nanao. Both of them have been kind of the same, just support characters, not much screen time. Glad they both finally got some focus.
So yeah, Nanao is Kyoraku’s niece, right? Let’s hope all that love talk is just family love. Anyway, moving on, the episode was a banger. The last few episodes have been so good, like they stretched the story but made it even better somehow. And that ending was fire, with the music and all the suspense about whether that guy was gonna die. They took out that clown in the end, and that’s what matters.
Next up, Bazz B and Haschwalth’s backstory.. FUCK YES.
so glad they spent an entire episode on a side character that most people probably can't even remember the name of's sword.
12 episodes and the main plot has still not progressed
What main plot is not progressing? Every plot point they set up in the arcs before have moved. Also, it's backstory on the head captain, his character, the events that transpired during this arc, and why he thinks them.
The main plot of long black hair quincy king trying to overtake the soul society. They've been up there on pause while showing meaningless side character fights the entire season. You could skip all of these episodes and drop to the end and not have missed a beat for the main plot.
Aizen is the only plot feature that's technically progressed, which was about 2 minutes of the season where they showed us he was in a chair.
The main plot of the long black hair quincy king trying to overtake the soul society.
That wasn't even his goal. His goal was to kill the Soul King to eliminate death. This was explained a while ago. If he wanted to overtake the Soul Society he could have done so two cours ago since he and his Stern Ritter have been walking all over them. Mimihagi was the will of the Soul King believing that the status quo was correct (as Yhwach interpreted it), so his fight is with the Soul King's belief carried out by the Soul Reapers.
The rest of the part has been wrapping up character stories because characters are, I don't know, a giant part of the story? Even in your own Yhwach focused reality, there's no way [protagonist] is stopping the army Yhwach amassed to do the task you think he's doing. Therefore, stopping the army is part of the plot! Do you only move your King when playing Chess?
This is a crazy take but understandable from someone who isn't paying attention to the episodes
barf
you can't tell me frieza's giant baby bankai has anything to do with the main story arc. none of this has any bearing on anything. The only thing that matters is aizen, ichigo, and ywach, who haven't been present aside from the 2 minutes of aizen in a chair this season.
you can't tell me frieza's giant baby bankai has anything to do with the main story arc
Sorry, but this is such an asinine comment cause by this logic, 80% of fights in any shounen don't matter because MC or main villain didn't fight it therefore no main plot progressed. Putting aside the fact that none of these fights are against cannon fodder that don't matter, they're the main villain's royal guards.
Admit you don't know how to comprehend something as simple as plot progression in a shounen, and carry on my guy
Congrats Azura, you've finally unlocked critical thinking. As it turns out, a ton of the fights don't matter which is literally what I just said. Are you going to try to defend Chad being there against the quincy king next? LOL what is going on in your head even
How about you try to explain how the most recent fight in the series with the captains fighting a million miles away from the main plot (the soul palace), connects to it in a way that effects the outcome even a little.
That OST combined with the visual and SFX of Lille's final attack was insanely well done. Sagisu really brought out some of his flavor from his Godzilla OST and the director really made that entire scene feel like something out of Elden Ring. Another peak Bleach episode directed amazingly and animated beautifully.
With that, we have 2 of the technically 5 schutzstaffel taken out and we're on to Jugram and Bazz B. I was wondering if this was going to be the cour finale fight, here's hoping we get the same as last cours and the final two episodes are dropped same time.
The team manages to flesh out Kubo's vision excellently. The story between Kyoraku and Nanao was touching and instead of having a boring aura fight we got something much more poignant. The last attack being effectively off-screen was a nice touch, defusing the tension and belittling the messenger of God. Finally, the relationship between captain and lieutenant is shown to be crucial to the duo's success (same as in the Mayuri battle), instead of just being an arbitrary ranking to add more characters and battles to the series. I do not understand the remarks about the plot not progressing, Bleach was always more about aesthetics and short side-stories that depict the character's convictions and struggles.
