Dude is rizzing up girls left and right lmao. In his own world, there’s Haein, and now even in this demon castle packed with barbaric monsters, he just happens to stumble upon a cute little girl, who, ofc, was just trying to kill him for some greater cause :)
That said, one gripe I have with this series is how little screen time the side characters get. Esil is the newest addition to that group, so let’s see if the adaptation gives her more attention, like they did with Haein.
The ants are out in the open now, and yeah, as expected, they’re covering Jeju Island this season, it’s basically confirmed. Can’t wait for that, tbh, since it’s almost non-stop action. That aside, I was waiting for the Balan fight. He’s the big bad final boss of the castle, after all. The fight was decent, but it got wrapped up in this episode itself. Not gonna lie, they’re not missing when it comes to fight scenes this season, but they could’ve at least extended the fight to the next episode. Still though, that shit was fucking insane. Wouldn't be crazy to say it was better than the one in episode six.
Doubt Esil will get much screentime than what she had in the original work. I finished to read it a few month ago and as much as I loved her character and her design, she appears a little here and there and is not given any importance nor any romance with the MC so, don't expect something that is very unlikely to happen.
Interesting they are covering the Jeju Island raid this season. It's something that happens way later in the manga.
Also seeing Esil give me joy but also pisses me of because I liked her so much only for her to basically disappear and play no role whatsoever later.
If she doesn't at least end up with his son in the sequel I'm gonna be royaly pissed..

I'm not sure about that, imo with the pace they're going they could probably wrap it up in this very season. I also heard rumors about the last episode being an hour long or something and I also think it would serve them better to end the season with a clean fight than with a cliffhanger. So they would probably end it like 1st season where the fight was just over, pretty much like every episode in fact.
btw we have 13 eps not 12( or else last ep is an hour long whichever the case), so we have like 5 episodes left. if its faithful to manhwa it would end in like 3.5 episodes . but they would probably extend it so that its 5 episodes which is more than enough . if you didnt know jeju aint even 20 chapters long
Agreed it was an awesome episode and i do wish they stretched out the fight with Baren. I also agree that it was better than Tusks fight, holy crap was that animation switch to the final punch on Baran insane. With regards to Esil i don't think she will appear again, i recall this is the end of her little arc.
Peak Leveling. Never. Disappoints.
The way I scheduled my ENTIRE day around this just to make sure I wouldn't miss the episode (even rewatched the two previous ones to build the hype up lmao)
We need to check when was the last time we had an anime generating this much hype and STILL delivering like it does, like it's actually insane..
In terms of directing, cinematography, animation, battle choregraphy, music and yk all that stuff this one did it just like episode 6, if not even better... which, again, is nuts
Also gotta love the Jinwoo effect and how bro's rizz got Esil to go from:
"I'll kill you to protect my clan, nothing personal."
to "please don't kill me, I'll help you out for whatever you ask me"
to "how naive, I'll kill you for good now."
to begging for her life again and end up becoming yet another member of his harem
The aura stuff in this show overall is and will always be a main and funny factor and I'll never get tired of it.
One thing I also did love that was missing for me during the fight against Kargalgan (or whatever his name is) is Jinwoo actually struggling and doubting himself against an opponent for a change this season -as I explained why it was important to the story-
Baran was giving real final boss energy and even though it wasn't enough to make the viewer question Jinwoo's victory, he still made him work for it.
In fact, just like for the fight against Igris Baran is likely stronger than Jinwoo at his current level, so if my assumptions are correct and he manages to extract his shadow in the next episode that'll make a great ally on his side.
Which brings me to my next point:
I'm also happy that they're expanding the hunter world and bringing top-level hunters from other countries (Japan in this matter) to help out for the upcoming big fights:
Go Gun-Hee's reaction confirmed it but despite how strong Jinwoo has become, chances are he isn't the strongest hunter yet - not even in Korea, let alone in Asia
That being said, the craziest part is the best is YET to come (at least according to the webtoon readers) - though I don't expect the story to get as breathtaking as HxH's Chimera Ant arc I can't wait to see those japanese S-rank hunters in action... alongside our goat.
Only downside of this episode is I didn't get enough Cha Hae-In screentime this week, hope she gets some more soon again..
Man what a simp, dudes casually spends two series ripping through every enemy without mercy or hesitation, and then he meets a single female opponent and instantly shows mercy and lets her join him, Kazuma needs to teach him a lesson lol (though she seems fun at least, even if she doesn't do anything)
Also bit disappointing that after we see Esil and her father being very capable of communication, the Demon Monarch is just an angry purple dude who does nothing but growl and roar - like surely he should be somewhat intellectual if he's a ruler.
I think so far they are doing amazing job at pacing things out. While I too would've loved slower pace of this battle for more details, but season time is limited, and wrapping up fight here means, they got more time to pace more details later, which is commendable, because we all know great anime doesn't mean only great fight in middle of season.
