This anime is... well, maybe "chill" is a bit much, but certainly more laidback than I was anticipating from the summary on both this page and the manga's. Not that it's a bad thing though, I've been enjoying myself all the same.

I like that, even though we still don't know 100% about his skill prowess, it does build upon what makes Beryl so special to his past students - I was genuinely taken aback by him being able to handle Lucy's surprised ice boulder drop and just casually toss it away from him, let alone slicing up three in half earlier lol. The dichotomy of that and him being the most humble person alive is rather funny to witness each time.

Did actually skim the manga earlier, and I'm surprised this seems to be adapting the LN straight than incorporating those elements in... or maybe we've just yet to see them in full yet.

I like that Beryl doesn't "feel" crazy OP like other power fantasy series, he's just incredibly competent.

  Ahahahah that's true.
  The story is ok, but I don't understand why this anime is so well done and other anime, that can be potentially gorgeus, have horrible adaptation.
  If TBATE or other anime (ex. TOG, BL, Ubel, Tokyo Ghoul, ecc...) may have this quality the anime industries can only be better.

  tbate anime is on another level of being a bad anime. They should just cancel making it and delete the episodes from existence.

honestly, I'm giga annoyed by this adaptation, they changed the source material so much that I'd be annoyed if some1 said it's an anime adaptation, beryl defeated lucy, she didn't go easy on him originally, they are painting him as a wuss in the anime, when he's actually insanely talented
