Why does this season lack good shows?

All of these are good highlights of this season for me:

Shin Samuraiden YAIBA
Witch Watch
Yaiba might be a little generic but I find it charming personally.
To Be Hero X is just amazing all around, probably my heaviest recommendation

You must be living in a completely different timeline, this season has many great shows apart from those two.

Three shounen action sequels, at least (can't vouch for Fire Force myself, but the other two are definitely good), plus a spin-off of one; five music anime, most of which with some fantastical elements and one of which looks to be an incredibly interesting and dark one; a bunch of generally interesting looking fantasy and sci-fi shows, and a fair chunk of CGDCT, which is probably the least eye catching section to me, to be honest.

And I don't think that's even covering everything, as much as I went over there...~

I have no clue how you can think this is a dry season, when it looks to be one of the best and most varied I've seen...~ All it's missing is some cute boys doing cute things, a primarily male cast band anime, and some more romance, and it'd have all bases covered, I think~

For a specific list of what's caught my eye most, excluding sequels, I have a list here. It's kinda late and I'm tired so I don't feel like copying and pasting them over right now ^^'

I'm not a very big seasonal watcher but I've been having a great time with
Apocalypse Hotel
I'd really recommend giving it a watch.

Saying "this season lacks good shows" or mid when you've only watched 3 sequels and 2 new ones isn't convincing. There's actually a lot of good variety if you look around a bit.

A few of my personal favorites:
– Apocalypse Hotel
– Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray (can totally be watched standalone – probably my top pick this season)
– Anne Shirley
– Mono (from the same creator as Yuru Camp)
– A Ninja and Assassin Under One Roof (by Shaft – the studio behind Monogatari and Madoka Magica)
– Rock is a Lady’s Majesty
– Once Upon a Witch’s Death

this season is dry for battle shounen enjoyers. if you're open to other genres. these shows are enjoyable

Personally, I've really enjoyed this season. Although it's probably because we've gotten additional content to pre-existing series.

Anyway, my recommendation is Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray. In case you do not know about the series, it's a horse racing anime based off of real life races. While technically a spinoff, this is a perfectly fine place to jump into the series. It's currently rated the highest jp anime of the season for a reason c:

Quite the opposite, this season has finally brought some actually good stuff instead of a billion generic isekai/romcoms, so excluding new seasons for preexisting series, I can recommend these three, starting from what will most likely be the best release of the year:

It doesn't "lack good shows" it lacks shows you are interested in. There's' a difference.

For me, this is one of the best seasons of the last couple of years.
