What an exciting episode today, and it felt even more so after waiting an additional week... Today Jinshi really showed that he is more than just talk. Casually parrying a bullet with his sword even.

Devilish. I gasped.

Suicide by guard? She should have tried to bargain but it was probably no use anyway...

Tears in my eyes.

I cried at the end. That was so beautifully done. I feel so bad about Shisui, she didn't deserve this. God I love this show so much. I hope Maomao is okay... I don't want it to end next week :')

That farewell hit hard emotionally, though I still have a strong feeling that Shisui made it out alive somehow. The way they highlighted "those who have died" and how Jinshi mentioned it was the last time he saw "Loulan" felt a little too deliberate to be final. I'm also holding out hope that the kids might be revived with the resurrection drug but it’s hard to tell… Maomao might just be giving them a proper burial.

  I also felt the way Jinshi said it was a bit weird, although I interpreted it more like as the Moon Prince he wouldn't see his man carry off, burn or whatever they do with the corpses after she fell.
  
  I wish she is still alive but multiple bullet wounds, in such a snowy area... Only if somebody instantly carried her off, and I think if that was the case then they would have said it more clearly, like her body was never found, right?

Why did Loulan cut Jinshi's face? So they'd kill her?

  Her mother being obsessed with beauty hated seeing it in others, for this reason her daughter decided to give her this farewell gift by carrying out a symbolic revenge by disfiguring Jinshi's face, so once done she tells her "this is all I can do"

Amazing episode, well worth the wait.

I'm not fully convinced Shisui is dead since she didn't actually die onscreen with a visible body. The last bullet hit felt suspicious as well, I'm just not sure. I might just be coping with her death, if she is dead then her last episode was pretty awesome.

  Also when the bullet hits her, there is no visible blood coming out, only pieces of her robe i think, I guess she is still alive...

  Yeah this was my thing with it. It looked like splinters from something else protecting her chest, they made an effort to show the blood when she wasn't shot in the chest but then not there.

Another amazing episode. This spoiler is really important. Don't forget that Loulan never showed to be dead but only went missing in the LN and have a chance to see her return.

  More than a folktale, consider it a stage performance. As for the over the top part, quite a lot of these Chinese and Korean drama about emperors and concubines seem over the top.

  IMO it was intended to feel like a "performance". Both Loulan and her father had to portray the part of the ultimate villains who went mad and betrayed the nation.

There's a lot of unjustice in this story and it's very upsetting!
I don't think Shisui is dead - she, together with her sister and the children, will go live their lives together somewhere else.

I feel bad for Shenmei's husband as well, he played the villain he never was. Like I said, the unjustice in all of this..

I didn't care about Loulan that much. I also didn't like the drama play acting in this episode. I hate that this season is only about her. It feels like a filler season.

I'm beginning to get concerned about the kids. I think I'll have to tie the fates of Shisui with them: If the kids come back, the story is gentle enough to let Shisui live; if they die, she probably did as well.

Here ends the tragic tale of Shisui. Such a beautiful and tragic ending for her. I understand why she had to die, or at least why she felt that she had to die, but it does not make it any less heartbreaking. This episode is also once again proof, as most of the latter half of this arc has been, that Maomao isn’t necessarily needed for this show to be as good and impactful as it is. We only got a minute of her at the end and one line yet this episode might be the best of the season. I adore Maomao and want her to be in as much of this show as possible, but I also like knowing that the show is strong enough to stand without her.

We almost had an entire episode where we didn't get to hear Maomao's voice, which also almost happened back in Episode 42 (Season 2 Episode 18).

It’s the end of Lolan, and I hope it’s the beginning of Shisui’s . The fact that there wasn’t blood everywhere on impact makes me hope she had some kind of hidden bulletproof vest, and that the snow might have softened the fall… but still…

I'm absolutely devastated, which means this was absolute cinema. Man… I loved Shisui/Loulan, I loved their little trio with Xiaolan and Maomao… But at least, she went out with a bang. Multiple, actually, in the figurative as well as literal sense. Taking full control of the situation, showing her mother how things work, revealing the full story of the Shi clan, and still keeping her calm, her dignity, and her honor, gifting us one last dance as she knows she's running out of time, and one last smile to her sister… My eyes are still wet, and if I weren't eating while watching this episode, I would still have the taste of tears on my lips. o7 to the character who managed in a few episodes to make me questioned, surprised, disappointed, hopeful, positively shocked and then mourning… She was simultaneously very cute and an absolute badass. It's probably not going to last since DanDaDan s2 is coming in a few days, but for now, this show is my second favorite of all time. can't wait to ruin the ink with my tears when reading this moment in the manga and the novel…

Yeah I cried hard. Shisui was without question one of my fav characters and these latest episodes cemented her even further. God, was she amazing and that send-off was majestic. This is one of the few times I wish a series did pull off a "She didn't actually die there" since we never saw a body. At the same time, I don't want this moment cheapened.

But why did Shishu wanted to kill Jinshi in the camp? isn't he loyal to the nation but forced to stay with his wife cuz he loves her more than anything else? If he did it for her then that explains it but i don't remember them mentioning that.
