The entire anime started with an misunderstanding between Cryus and the two sisters but now the worse treated marie is the one who will be his wife instead of her sister Anastasia due to the accident. Kinda curious how the story progress. Similar theme of Cinderella.

(For some reason the mods didn't believe me and removed my previous forum thinking japanese people watching the anime same schedule and time as overseas. So I remade it again.)
My "The Too-Perfect Saint" anime replacement for the season is here. And I love it.
The thread "Bruh this green backlight on the FMC's hair bruh" and its comments have been merged into this thread.

I very much dislike it. How did this get past so many people and not one pointed out it looks terrible?
Oh well, I'm a sucker for these Cinderella like stories so I'll still be watching, but goodness that's an ugly design choice.
I 100% agree. That green hue for Marie's hair is off putting, and it feels like a cheap way to bring attention to her hair. Red hair doesn't need to add more to bring attention to it, instead, they should have had contrasting colours for her outfit (Trope of Redheads with green dresses is an example).
Also, damn the animation is jarring. The outlines of the characters was distracting me the entire episode and feels unfinished, or lacking polish.
First of: BAD parents, hope they get what they deserve at some point.
Second: Keep the freckles! They are part of her and they are making Marie someone she isn’t with changing her looks so much. I am actually glad she spoke up at the end and doesn’t let others just decide for her.
I am also pretty sure her sister didn‘t die and just faked it tbh.
Was a solid first episode. Seems like your typical Cinderella story but I think this needs some time to get rolling.
Is it too early to admit that I’m in love? I definitely am, but don’t want to be too uncouth. Marie from the get-go is adorable and it’s going to be great to watch her have good things happen to her, especially after the glimpse of how bad her previous life was. I did think it was funny in the beginning when she declares herself as ugly yet she’s literally gorgeous. It’s a testimony to what body dysmorphia can do to someone due to years of emotional and verbal abuse. I’m glad the count saw it as well. I really can’t wait until Marie finds out that the Count thought she was Anastasia and wanted her, not Anastasia, all along. I love both the count’s main assistant as well as his mother. Last, it’s a big breath of fresh air to see a character that’s part of the main coupling in a romance story be a person of color in an anime. I’m rallying for them even more now.
Before the haters arrive and do "3 episode rule" please understand this a show for empowering women. I actually really like this anime because unlike cinderella the fl didn't have to go through some transformation all she did was be herself by talking about her knowledge/education the prince instantly fell for her. It shows that with the right person they can truly see your inner beauty shine.
Are they allowed to add the "Who made a Princess" Anastasia lookalike and namealike girl here?

Rewatching the episode, and I have a theory (slash hope): Anastasia, the older sister, isn't dead after all. She faked her death and now runs a shop in the royal capital... with her wife. I know other people are also suspecting the first part but I want to put the wife thing out there.
After all, she's being married off to a man she barely remembers, and she seems less than enthusiastic about the idea, and part of that could be the "a man" part (not just the "barely remembers" part). Plus she loves women dressed as men and dashing ladies, which... idk, I feel like that could potentially be in a not-platonic way.
I do hope she's alive though, and doing what she wants to with her life, so both sisters can be happy. Because really, it's a shame that the one (1) person in that family who is sympathetic to Marie had to die :c
(If we're really lucky, their abusive parents will get what's coming to them instead. Not just for everything they did to Marie, but also they tried to deny Anastasia her interests as well.)
I don’t usually watch this kind of anime, but I like to check them out at least. The idea of the classic “Cinderella” framing is actually pretty nice. I might follow the three-episode rule, but compared to ‘‘The too perfect saint’’ from last season, it’s personally harder to enjoy.
The episode was straightforward. The misunderstood engagement was introduced right at the start, with clear chemistry between the characters and a conflict that seems interesting to follow. But some people felt it was too fast-paced, and the first episode alone didn’t really convince
Honestly I don't know what to think of this as of right now. While Episode one hit a few notes that could lead to a decent story lines so many things make zero sense right now. It has a similar starting point to "My happy marriage" but that series episode one gave us more information. Why is her family so cruel to her? We have no idea other than the fact that they supposedly find her ugly but, thar doesn't make any sense? The Male lead finds her to be stunning. Is it a cultural thing? Is she Anastasia's half sister?
I'm gonna stick with the three episode rule here. If we still don't have any insight to any of the characters motivations I fear that this will turn into a "romance" anime where nothing happens.
