The stuff with the school feels so over-the-top I don’t even know what to say lol. It’s like the girls’ school isn’t next to some normal boys’ school with outgoing guys, but instead right beside a juvenile detention center where every dude is on the verge of making headline news every morning and night. But hey, that’s kind of the whole point of the series.
The foundation is pretty standard, but when something simple is done well, it really works. We’ve seen the “finding yourself” theme in anime a lot, and most of the time it ends up going off the rails and turning all pretentious. That’s not the case here.
The whole thing with those guys trying to mess with Kaoruko was super convenient for Rintarou, but whatever, it worked. Solid start overall, and there’s clearly a lot more coming, so I’m excited to see where it goes.
Also… CloverWorks is out here dropping three shows in one day and all of them look amazing. How do they even pull that off? xD
sooo, is there even a way to actually watch this? i hate netflix
If you're fom Japan then you can already watch it since it started airing today. If you're from SEA it starts airing on July 13th. If you're from anywhere else on the world then you're shit outta luck and have to wait until september or pray to the gods of piracy for some proper fansubing group to pick it up.
best romance in the medium finally got an adaptation!! that said, idk how to feel about it just yet, it looks pretty good dont get me wrong but like, it doesnt look as good as i hoped it would for such a great manga. maybe im just being a doomer tho. regardless, we are going to be feasting for the next 12 weeks
The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity just released today. Wow. The first episode is already amazing. Similar story as Boarding School Juliet but more like an upgraded version of it. I am already loving Kaoruko and Honoka did an amazing job as her. Might be the best romance anime that ever released. The lovers met each other at the cake shop for the first time? This is 100% a legendary story.

AHHHH Mikami Saka having their manga adapted into this beauty is phenomenal. I wasn't expecting Kitani for the OP but damn he nailed it. Love that they plastered best girl Kaoruko all over it. Usami's character design makes him look a little more mature at times, but if that's my only fault then that's all good
I couldn't get rid of the stupid smile on my face for the entire episode, it was everything I hoped for. OP and ED are great, art is amazing, and I really like the voice cast. I can't believe I'm going to get 13 episodes of seeing all of Kaoruko's faces animated. I'm already praying they continue after the first season.
Cloverworks is just cooking this season, 3 higher profile series and they all seem to have gotten the quality they deserve.
