If the Studio Hesitates then its a Defeat for them!!
And whats with the name at least he should die twice or it doesnt justify the name of the GOTY Game.
I am dying to hear MY NAME IS GYOUBU MATSAKA ONIWA!!! AS I BREATHE I WILL NOT LET YOU PASS THE CASTLE GATE!!!!
That quote of Genichiro " kanarazu ashina wo mamoru" hits hard when we die... I love this game a lot that I will end up giving spoilers so I better Hesistate now. (Isshin The Sword Saint words echoed "HESITATION IS DEFEAT!!")
Saw this trailer when it got announced earlier today, and I've literally been talking about how perfect Sekiro would be as an anime ever since I played the game, and now we're finally getting it!
I will however admit that the stylistic choices they've made were a little disappointing, simply because I feel like this deserves a very detailed and vibrant depiction, and what we're seeing seems a bit "simple" for the world that Sekiro takes place in, but that's just my opinion. I am honestly just happy that we're getting an adaptation at all, and I have a feeling it will turn out great either way. It's just not how I pictured it, and that is okay. I hope I will end up pleasantly surprised!
My biggest hope (outside of it being good) is that it prompts FromSoft to give us an update for the game. Perhaps a sub-boss gauntlet with a new outfit to unlock at the end. Anything really. I just beat the game a few weeks ago and got all the trophies so I'm primed for any content they could give us.
this studio is likely utilizing AI: https://fixupx.com/shineyezehuhh/status/1957914190984671478
so
...If you want AI generated slop, by all means. But I am far from the only one with absolutely no interest in AI bullshit, built and fueled only by stealing the work of every artist one could name.
its not AI generated slop. its human work with HELP of AI, just because they use AI, it doesn't mean the whole thing is AI generated
They have not disclosed what amount of AI is used or how. It is merely buried on the studio's website that they seek to "bring about digital disruption in the anime industry" utilising AI, and that this no-name studio is popping up out of nowhere with this mission.
It is my strong opinion that we must not give AI one ounce of oxygen in anime, the wider entertainment industry, and otherwise. I sure as hell am not going to pay for it.
That's incorrect; the announcement states that it's "fully hand-drawn 2D animation" in the first sentence as they're likely aware of the studio's dubious credibility: https://sekiro-anime.jp/news.html#news-250819-4.
It's very unlikely that this production utilized generative AI considering all the circumstances.
Update: Studio Qzil.la was forced to directly confirm that no AI was used
Its not, if you know who Kenichi Kutsuna link and the other animation directors are, you would know that they wouldn't use gen AI. Don't believe everything you see from random Twitter users and actually look up the staff's work instead. Yes the production company may be using AI in OTHER teams, but I doubt that these animators and even the background director Yuji Kaneko link who previously worked on Look Back and Heavenly Delusion would resort to that. These guys are heavy hitters in the industry. Kutsuna is literally one of the main reasons why webgen animators draw lightning the way they do today (Kutsuna Lightning link ).

You've clearly never paid attention to shorthand drawings during action scenes, you can find this simplified stuff everywhere but its hard to notice in motion unless you pause or actively study this stuff. Characters in action scenes don't have to be exactly on-model because the animation isn't holding on these single poses for longer than a few frames.

Like I mentioned earlier, there are inconsistencies in the “uniforms” because when you’re drawing action scenes or character acting sequences with fast movement its not entirely necessary to be 100% accurate with the design sheets.
You are not going to notice tiny details on Wolf when he’s fighting things because its moving so fast, animators don’t have the time to prioritize a drawing that will be shown for 3 frames of the episode when they have hundreds to draw of their assigned sequence. These faster cuts with shorthand drawings are usually prioritizing the readability of the movement, rather than how good it looks as a still.
Given the names attached to this, the fact that it has been in production for a long time (predating the latest advances in image generation), and how they explicitly market it as 100% hand-drawn animation, it's extremely unlikely that this particular show is AI-generated. The studio and its management suck, no doubt about that, but there's no reason to accuse this production of utilizing generative AI based on that alone.
The thread "Some Questions Aroused in my Mind regarding the anime ( Spoilers are there!) " and its comments have been merged into this thread.
You can view the merged thread's body below:
These are some questions that arose in my mind. :
Will we witness Shura or the good ending, or will they show us both? For example: They went with a scenario where Sekiro is trapped in some kinda dream due to something (maybe dragonrot). He witnesses a very cruel form ( shura) and annihilates the whole Ashina, and Kuro helps to snap him out of this dream. Something like that.
Will there be remixes of the OSTs just like we witnessed in Pokémon Anime Series, as they were very different from the Franchise Games?
How many episodes do you expect will come in this series?
When will it be released? Any guesses when in 2026?
Can we expect that these battles will be long, just like Dragon Ball?
Will other Soul Games also get an adaptation?
Can we expect a completely alternate ending, as technically Sekiro dies in one good ending, and Kuro ultimately dies in the other two endings (ignoring Shura)
While the Animation is top-notch and it will be a great watch.
They are using AI to make the anime?? If that's true, then jokes on me i liked that AI slop.
"HESITATION IS DEFEAT!"
We can only speculate on these questions but the Shura ending is actually my favourite so I hope so! Or perhaps they could give it to us in the form of a future OVA if this anime is successful enough.
Sekiro is probably one of the easier FromSoft IP's to adapt as most of the game's events are spelled out for us. Though I'd also like to see a reputable studio give a crack at Armored Core. The way the AC-verse builds its dystopian world through faceless corporations and mechs would be a unique but welcomed challenge for storytelling in anime.
They might adapt the dragons return ending, and if the series works out great they might have season 2 for shura ending titled something like "Sekiro: Lost Soul".
Also since we don't know how much of production has been done, we can assume it to release in late 2026 somewhere around October. (No sources, just my assumption).
