I don't have 2k words in me for a full review so let's just complain in a thread. What a sharp decline in quality. 700 chapters and it kept introducing concepts and plots and characters that just did not get any resolution.
Yeah. Started really good. Really interesting concept. But the last 200 or so chapters... and especially the last 50ish just screamed "i want this to be over already".
Truly an unfortunate end. The last 20 chapters were pretty much nonsensical.
I wonder if the original.source material was better... though I kinda doubt I'd be able to find a good translation anywhere.
I finally got around to finishing this and just... what?
Maybe I don't read carefully but there were so many things that the author started that just went nowhere?? And this entire time I have no idea where anyone or anything is, people just teleport everywhere.
The last 20 chapters make absolutely no fucking sense. Events just follow one another without any explanation. The ending with Nightingale and Anna doesn’t make sense either. It really feels like the manhua had to be rushed to a conclusion, even if it turned out like shit.
I checked the novel, and if you look at the coronation chapter — which happens around chapter 605 in the manhua — it takes place closer to chapter 1000 in the novel. So yeah, the last 100 chapters of the manhua are adapting roughly 500 chapters of the novel. No wonder it barely makes sense toward the end.
It’s a shame. It started as one of my favorite manhua, but that rushed ending ruins it to the point where I can’t even tell if it’s good or not anymore.
