Another amazing episode! More progress between Kaoruko and Rintarou but also his and her friends. I said this before and I will say it again. Rintarou mom is the best mom and cupid of this show. She really makes both Rintarou and Kaoruko become close to each other and based on the past story she protected him like a real mother. After this Rintarou and Kyouko cake shop will become popular for sure after all of them meeting there. I loved how they also focused the story for Kyouko too and I loved it. Such a great and amazing mother he have! I also loved how she dyed her hair and pierced her ear just to make rintarou feel comfortable.

I totally agree with you!
Even in the manga it surprised me how much time the author gave to Rintaro's mom and later to the whole family as well. It just makes you care for all of them equally as much.
This series is one of the reasons I started opening up to people and actually trusting them with some of my deeper emotions and thoughts, which is why it's also my favorite manga and anime (once it's finished).
The characters feel grounded, down to earth and just super realistic. They talk to each other like any real human would without feeling unnatural.
Please let this series never end! (or give it a proper ending like it deserves!)
There's just too much about this episode that is great.
We get another great moment from king Usami just telling it how it is. Other kids were too busy judging superficial things to find out Rintaro is a good guy. Usami may act like a clown, but he is smart where it matters.
Honestly too much to say about Kyoko for this episode. She's just a really supportive mother without being overbearing or pushy. Just a god tier anime/manga mom and really it extends to the rest of the family but they haven't gotten their moments yet. We did get to hear dad's voice though and I'm a fan.
I told myself I'd get through this episode without crying and I definitely lied. Moments with Rintaro's family hit me like a truck in the manga and it seems like that will continue here.

I’m constantly amazed by how effortlessly Kaoru Hana tugs at my heart. This episode had the gang gathering at Rintaro’s home, where they discovered his family’s cake shop. Instead of it being just a casual reveal, the moment turned into something warm and heartfelt, with everyone showing genuine admiration and support. What really elevated it was Rintaro’s mother, who is quickly becoming the emotional anchor of the series. Watching her cry tears of joy at her son’s growth was deeply moving, and it captured how precious Rintaro’s family truly is. No question about it, best mom of 2025.
The staff credits showed three directors and storyboarders, which normally points to production hiccups. Despite that, the episode turned out great.
Your weekly dose of diabetes featuring Subaru and Kaoruko
This was the chapter that absolutely broke me the first time I read it and guess what? ANIME DIDN'T HELP. I'M STILL CRYING.
I'll say this until the day I die, Kyoko is one of the best parents put to paper ina romance/SoL/comedy/whatever manga/anime and Rintaro's parents are just the absolute best. I'll defend them until the day I die.
I had a good feeling about this episode right from the preview. There's nothing like hanging out with the boys. Takes me back to my school days, where just being with the dudes (and sometimes the girls) doing jack shit was fun already. I always knew this gets harder once you grow up, but I had no idea it was that hard. Some are having kids, some you lose contact, some even died early.
Probably the best episode up until now, and I'm also glad we're moving past one of my pet peeves with Rintaro (him having some complex over some very mild shit kids said). It's also nice to see his mom's side for once, that last bit from the episode was really heartfelt.
Ahh it's time for my weekly dose of healing (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
Rintarou spacing out because he can't get Waguri out of his mind. Its toooo sweet!!
Slowly but surely Rintarou's scars from his past are healing. Every episode he's taking steps towards opening up more and his friends are also doing a great job of supporting him.
It's also healing for Rintarou's mom to see him finally have genuine friends he can rely on. It must be such a huge weight off her shoulder since she cares so, so much about him.
Ohhhh he definitely doesn't mind :)
Waguri worrying about how she looks was too cute!
We got to see into Rintarou's reason for dying his hair and piercing his ears as well. It was a really big moment for him to tell his parents that he wanted to do this, especially because of the way he was being treated by others around him. His mom even took it a step further and dyed her hair and pierced her ear just to show how much she supported him.
I'm not crying, you're crying!! (˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )

man I kinda teared up a little,
the relation between the characters is so pure
and nothing really feels cliche, the story is way too good
also the character designing and the build up is great
the whole episode just felt like "shiawase"
I'd say it's a great thing to reward with yourself after a long day of work
