X eating skewers alone without Smile was so sad. Followed up with Ahu trying to assassinate X only to care for him later was adorably cute. Also X carrying Ahu like a rice bag while he's fighting the commission goons effortlessly was cute. I find it hard to believe anyone, even our main hero roster can stand against him honestly. He's just so OP.
So that Zero reveal, he was known as an evil dragon? Coincidentally Dragon Boy has Dragon in his name before meeting Rock. Was he born under some Zero cult? Also that reveal about Zero. Was Rock right all along then? He knew the truth about Zero? Is his secret mission to just destroy HAC? And everyone is basically Zero as long as the commission exists? I have more questions than answers.
The montage of the main roster heroes crossing paths was nicely done. It confirming E-Soul was in fact the one who killed Moon with Ghostblade intervening? Interesting... I am still slightly confused of at the whole truth reveal though. Seeing everyone in their 3D model was cool and Nice being alive reveal to replace E-Soul, not sure how I feel about that honestly considering I wanted to see Lin Ling vs. E-Soul for Moon.
Overall, it was a fun ride while it lasted. The music and soundtrack never missed and the animation and different styles was cool to see. I can’t help wishing we got to see more interactions between the heroes.
I really hope next season steps things up. I'm not saying the first season was bad but there were definitely parts that left me feeling unsatisfied. Queen, Dragon Boy, and OG E-Soul’s arcs in particular were a letdown. Their character PVs built up so much hype, only for their stories to not be touched upon.
The director did mention that it was originally planned as a 48-episode series, so I’m curious how long the tournament arc will actually cover. I also genuinely hope the Trust poll was just for propaganda and that the production team sticks to their own story instead of letting fan votes dictate the story’s direction.
The last I'll see of best boy Liang Long after a while ):

My current hero ranking. What's yours?:
1. Dragon Boy
Episode was peak. Music, story, animation, everything just felt so good. (Im so fucking confused by Nice being here though. Like what the fuck???)
Gonna miss the series while it's gone, can't wait until it comes back though.
Gonna add in my rankings here too.
Hero rankings:
1. X (Aura King)
Arc Ranking:
1. Lin Ling/The Commoner
Wow, what an excellent episode. Totally loved it. That new version of the OP song at the end was such a nice touch. Although, I am curious about some characters that appeared in it.
This anime is one of the best ones I've seen. The story, music, animation... everything was just perfect. I'll be eagerly waiting for the next season!
(PS. They really like to torture Nice, huh?...Also, feels bad for Ghostblade, he was just a moment too late to save Moon :/ )
It is interesting to see that X influenced some characters, especially three heroes (Ahu, Nice, and Lucky Cyan), indirectly. The rest unfolded like a domino effect: one influenced the next, which ended up connecting several heroes, directly or indirectly, until it all circled back to X. In the end, everything led to him.
Now comes season two. There are rumors of a four-month break, at least according to leaks in China. I also figured out who that Nice is: it seems he is not actually alive; his appearance is almost porcelain. I am curious to see how the tournament will play out. He has already confirmed the goal of 48 episodes, 24 in this first season and another 24 in the next. Even so, I do not think the tournament will take up all 24; it will likely run for 12 or 13 episodes, and the rest should cover some conspiracy, perhaps the mysterious woman who might be the new Zero, or some unknown entity that appears in the new opening. That figure, incidentally, has already shown up as a card on the panel in the queen’s episode.
Many questions remain. I am satisfied with the ending; we got some answers, and it makes sense to leave others for season two. Now we wait.
Where did the leakers say this? I hope it's true!
If you check To Be Hero X’s Chinese account, you will see that about 16 hours ago they held a pre-screening with producers and invited guests to watch episode 24 early. After that, behind-the-scenes comments began circulating, shared behind closed doors. That is where the rumor of a four-month hiatus came from. As I said, it is just a rumor; if it proves true, we should get information within a few weeks or months about when the series returns.
Well X said that he thought, he started with his hero path with a toincoss, but it actually started with the last and only believer from Zero, that kept Zero alive. This was like a domino effect that threw everyone together. Like i am trying to say that he did not directly influence anyone, because it was kind of set from the beginning

I've been saying OG Nice is alive since Episode 19

Yeh but your theory of him working with X doesn’t look to be true.
Fair enough, but that’s also what all the evidence seemed to point to at the time. I more or less understand what happened now. We never saw a corpse; it was always an implied death. Miss J could’ve very easily been lied to. His boss is more than capable of Frankensteining a mortally wounded man back together. The timeline matches up as well. It’s only a matter of why he saved him and how Nice is currently in the top 10.
I thought it was just a crackfic, but holy shit he really is alive
maybe? we don't even have confirmation that it's really nice, for all we know it could be a fragment of himself from the past or he could be hiding his fear within (due to the cracked dark lines in his face)
I think the cracked lines are result of the fall. He didn’t die, but he was mortally wounded, then his boss or the commission itself declared him dead while he was Frankensteined back together. As for what his personality will be like? I’d assume he has most of his memories and is still Treeman’s slave (for now), but he’ll also be far less prickly this time around.
X aura farmed like crazy. His weakness is he has to emote on everyone
Very good episode it showed what season 2 will hold and X's past and resoning
I reckon Fate may be a big power especially with the end credits about the girl X met with her tarot cards
If anyone missed it the end credits had X's past and how he got his powers, which was from a girl who showed him tarot cards - probably leading his circus past and powers
It also showed a face off between him and that very same girl who look corrupted by fear
100000% shes gonna be the villian for season 2, insanely powerful with her tarot card abilities and the fear amp/power up
Nice with a cracked face was interesting to? He look like a zombie so could be a fear thing to
The fact X new all along about Zero and Rock is crazy cool means Rock may become Zero to eventually or it couldve been his daughter or something.
Season 2 will be peak again I cant wait this show was so good
One final thing the ending with Lolli she did the bat swing which I swear I've seen before from like boderlands or something so that was cool
Tarot card girl 100% might have been either a family member or love interest of X so that will be interesting to see
Side Note:
Overall opinion of the series
Very good 10/10 season 2 will be crazy cool to
Season 2 premise theory: Tournament of Heros into the tarot girl showing up
The episode structure: 1 flashback with how X met the girl and got his powers, otherwise a linear storyline
Power system: Fear and trust with Fate being the balance of the 2. Fate maintains how much trust while ensuring fear doesn't fully control people. This is aside from the fear goop which is a way around it
Who is the end girl: Her hero name probably Fate or someting but she is corrupted by fear and might have been X's love interest at one point in time or work colleague/friend that wanted to control him
Symbolism: X mentions fate a lot and mentioned his coin. The coin therefore might be what prevented him from being a puppet of some sorts to the tarot girl, hence he gives the coin to people as a symbol of hope like he did for Cyan when she ran away from being used like a puppet
Final concerns: I hope fate doesn't become time travel and Nice's revival isn't intertwined with fear or is complicated. Like he doesn't look like himself anymore so idk if X truly fixed him with a snap
Very good series though ngl anime of the year contender and potential winner
It's rare I take the time to say this but thank you to all the staff that worked on To Be Hero X.
I'll miss this one. It came out of nowhere for me and left a huge impact. It's been an incredible ride so far and I'm beyond excited to see more of To Be Hero X. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this one. Of course there were "weaker" moments but I was genuinely entertained all throughout.
Nice's face looks so cracked; I'm assuming it's because he lost his "perfect" persona. That being said, he looks so dead inside, even more so than before so I have no idea what kind of mental state he is in right now.
X drinking alone with a drink for Smile was hella sad.
I wonder what E-Soul's role in the next season is going to be, considering he got knocked out of the top 10.
Actually, I think it’s the opposite. I think Nice will lose his perfect persona BECAUSE his face is cracked. His death was always just implied; we never actually saw a corpse. His boss is more than capable of frankensteining a mortally wounded man back together. And the timeline would line up as well. It’s just a matter of why. It’s also possible that X saved him, but I don’t think that’s the case anymore.
Easily 10/10 for me!
The creativity in animation, the music by Sawano, the unconventional yet extremely engaging storytelling, the well thought out characters, the plentiful ideas of corporate greed and the hypocrisy of society itself....it had it all!
Sure, it's not perfect, it's not flawless, it has some weak moments, but it was overall a fantastic experience, and it's definitely my #1 nonsequel show of 2025!
Hopefully Season 2 won't take too long a wait!

This was so great. I actually was holding my breath during the X action scenes. I am so happy to see a possible season 2. What a fuckin master class at hero genre, I usually don't like slow build up, but it was all worth it for that feeling of knowing EVERY character in the tournament and what their deal was.
WHERE'S MY S2 BILIBILI?!?!?!?
My Ranking of the Arcs:
1. X (imo, all of the eps he appears in also count as his arc, not just Ep 24)
My Ranking of the Heroes:
1. X (what it’s the Aura Farming King)
This finale episode was insane, from peak animation and the sickest transitions between artstyles, to getting so much lore drop, I can't wait for the next season to come.
Only thing that sucks, cus this was 24 anthology, i feel like i forgotten so many details, and it also doesn't help the pv and mvs also contain details that are important to the story. So this anime is one of the few animes where you cannot rate this off 1 watch through, you have to watch the entire anime twice.
I prolly forgot, did they ever explain why e-soul killed moon, ik X said it was part of the chain of dominos that lead everything up to the tournament, but was there a reason why e-soul killed her? Also apparently ghostblade was trying to save her, or prevent her death, when did they ever come up?
What an episode! I had to make sure I blinked at the right time to not miss a single important frame, because it just all looked so damn good!
We got some answers, but even more questions LMAO
I can't wait for the continuation, and seeing what actually happened with Nice, but also (hopefully) getting to know more about X's story.
Does someone understand X's power? I wanted to know in this episode what are the abilities of X are, but we just had a big performance (not unpleasant either).
I feel like I have more questions now than the previous week, so I don't know how to feel ... I see a lot of people talking about an S2 and maybe the fact that the creators let us choose our ranking lets us know that the outcome of the fights is going to be our choices?
Some of my questions are:
- Who killed Yueqing Xiao (is it the previous E-Soul or the new one) and why?
it's obvious that new e-soul killed moon, as he had already killed old e-soul by the time of year 41
X's powers seem to be some kind of space-time manipulation? or at least he's able to manipulate perspective and dimensions as shown in multiple episodes
I hope we can learn about the other 2 questions, if (likely) a season 2 is released in the future
Does someone understand X's power?
Joke answer: To let the animators flex whenever they want to.
Real answer: Seems time/space manipulation related, especially toward the end where he and Ahu are in between dimensions. He seems to know A LOT of things he shouldn't be able to. Not to mention being able to avoid being hit by multiple heroes at once.
His snap was heard during the E-Souls duel and he somehow knew where and when to drop Nice where Lin Ling was to start his whole arc. Also seemed concerned about fate in general. In short, utterly broken.
Amazing ending.X totally deserved the hype it got. But a problem of mine still remains; There are a lot of unresolved questions and cliffhangers. If this show doesn’t get a second season my rating for this show will go down drastically because I’m waiting to see how are they going to resolve this questions. For now it’s at least an 8.5 for me.
As the person that started this thread mentioned, I too prefer for the writers to just do their own thing for the second season and don’t use that website poll.
And another point I want to make here.I never got the hype for dragon boy. He was the most cliche character and some of you still praise him even though he got his buttocks beaten in his own episodes.
Episode was peak each frame till the end was beautiful
I got most of the story but still didn’t understand the connection of the spaceship how is it connected fear when fear was made because ppl started being scared of zero as he killed more heroes
Cant wait for s2
