The first of the last episode of this season is started.
Edit: I mean this is indeed a filler episode but atleast they didn't take an entire episode with that backstory.

That was... disappointing... (filler episode?)
I had to check twice if I was even watching the correct anime.
It's not the first time where Ryou is somehow not part of the anime, so to say.
(Well he was technically in the episode, but still... like as if he was some unimportant side character)
This entire episode felt like side characters doing side characters thing without any actual plot.
It is one of the most irritating anime episodes I’ve ever watched.
A flashback from a character no one cares about, just one episode before it ends.
The main character is almost completely absent during the entire “mini final arc”.
A bunch of useless dialogue that doesn’t lead to anything.
Nameless and faceless mobs killing everyone without evoking any emotion, because the direction is terrible.
Oscar’s flashback is awful, it feels like the author just read “How to Write a Cliche Tragic Backstory for a Character in Your Fantasy.”
I hate this kind of isekai where the main character isn’t even part of the story. Why make it an isekai to begin with? It only works when the story has good side characters and solid world-building, which isn’t the case here.
Amazing. Out of only 12 episodes, they thought episode 11 was the perfect spot for a filler flashback. Brilliant strategy. Who needs a climax when you can waste time?
The pacing has been in freefall since the start, focusing on the most pointless parts possible. Honestly, did the staff think they were working on a 24-episode show? Or were they just betting on a second season that’s clearly never coming? Either way, this was a trainwreck of a production.
Damn, I come here after really enjoying that episode and all i see is hate.... Hey maybe I'm just weird but i recognized all the problems that people have said, and i agree with them. However none of these issues actually disrupt my enjoyment of the show regardless.
I think others still focus too much on the MC. The show is trying to tell the story of the world, which doesn't exist solely for the MC to show how cool he is, but has it's own events unfold. But this all falls flat, if in the back of your mind, there is a simple solution of overpowered MC solving everything. This show would be just a bit better, if MC actually wasn't in it.
This is just how the comments basically always are on this site, that I've seen; if it not an epic fight scene, it's filler. If it's about a supporting character or anyone but the MC, it's filler. If the pacing is slower than the average TikTok, it's trash. If a character is weaker than the MC, they're useless and not worth caring about... unless maybe they have boobs.
The people leaving those comments don't like anime, they like complaining about anime, and would clearly rather just watch fight scene compilations on YouTube (and hentai clips on other sites) with no context.
I don't know what it is, I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about these three newbie idiots saving the princess kinda pissed me off, like right, second to last episode, not only did we barely see Ryu in this episode, during that entire final sequence I was practically screaming at my TV "DO SOMETHING RYU, DAMMIT!!!" I was fully expecting him to just use Ice Bahn to freeze the ground before the spell erupted, but no. Or when the princess falls, he's catching her mid air or smth, but instead we got this...and of course that idiot of whom we got an unnecessary flashback mistakes the three newbie idiots for the bandits, because why not, got to give the final antagonist (Probably that bandit from the flashback) some way to beat that Oskar guy again, just so Ryu could turn up and save the day!
I know this was an unnecessarily long rant for absolutely no reason, but I just had to get this out of my mind somewhere
This episode just worsen the entire anime. Instead of trying to balance out their flaws, they just give us half an episode about a character nobody cares about that we've only seen 2-3 times and the rest of the episode is just the usual bad animation. Generally episode 11 in a 12 episode anime is supposed to be suspenseful, intense or filled with emotions. There were none of that and now we're heading to last episode without anything to look forward to (except maybe finally main character doing his job and appearing at the end to clean up, what an original plot).
surprisingly this anime was pretty decent and has above average rating for isekai tbh and i enjoyed it more than i thought ngl but the studio is doing this anime so bad tbh and the production is shit with this ep and few other stuff that happened throughout the anime. Hope this studio and production team to actually try or just quite your job.
Over half an episode worth of flashback filler about a character no one gives a shit about in the second to last episode. A 12 episodes short series does not need that. Especially not this late right in the middle of something more important. Basically 15 minutes out of the 20 minutes play time wasted just to set up a grudge a tertiary character we've barely seen has against someone we never heard about and didn't show up. The episode starts and ends as a disappointment.
ya'll REALLY need to learn what "filler" means and actually pay attention, calling the dude useless when he's literally been talked about for multiple episodes as one of the only other people that can use magic on the same level as Ryo, he's obviously another big character and they are currently in the middle of properly introducing him, chill out people and actually watch the damn show, we've known for a long time that this show isn't gonna be the type where Ryo is just an OP dude going around solving everybody's problems but a show that treats him like a person who doesn't know everything that's happening all of the time and lets the world turn without him
He is not important because the show itself didn't make him important. His character wasn't built up. He was barely shown and was talked about like twice over 10 episodes. We, the watchers have no investment in his origin story. Especially so when something important happens to the main plot. The staff messed up. They forgot to build up his character and realized his origin story is important to whatever happens in the last episode so they tucked it in the second to last episodes. If they messed up this bad with awesome fire mage character (I genuinely don't even remember his name), they should have just adjusted the last 2 episodes so his origin story didn't matter and if necessary, delay telling it to the second season.
This episode wastes half its runtime on Oscar’s backstory, a side character no one cares about and may never see again. The pacing is painfully slow, clearly stalling for a Season 2 that may not even happen. Compared to Re:Zero or Mushoku Tensei, it feels less like world-building and more like watching paint dry with water magic.
