Did they really not have enough material for this season? The hot spring part was entirely anime original, and I'm not sure why they felt the need to add it.
Anyway Libra best girl.
"Oh im in a girl body now so i CANT be attracted to women" come on bruh
I can tell that scene wasnt in the original seeing as how out of place and out of tone it felt
TBH I didn't read this scene like that. It felt more like "I'm not horny on main anymore". Such level of unprompted and sudden horniness may be regular occurence for a teenage / developing boy but it's definitely not regular for an adult woman like Lufas (ofc libido levels differ between people, but just saying that young boy will be reacting to everything while adult woman will probably need something more than just a naked body, especially considering that women see naked women bodies constantly (i.e. their own while bathing) so it's not that much of an incentive anymore for horniness). Also body reaction, sexual attraction and romantic attraction are all different things.
That scene with frogs was both transition affirming but also "and then they became straight". But Lufas throwing off the representation of the green frog as a sign that she will not fall in love with a man was funny. She is right tho, it's not how it works in humanoid species (and even animal kingdom is kinda fruity - companionship over gender).
Im way too late to see this got animated alteady. I remember always read the manga way back 10 years ago. I just stopped since ive read ahead on its web novel version. I did drop reading it some time and didnt finished since i have problem understanding the logic behind Rufas and the MC soul in one body. Honestly, it just put me off since on how i understand it. The MC is destined to be taken over by the original Rufas and his existence will be gone eventually.
If someone could explain it better please reply.
Spoilers for volume 7 of the light novel, which has not yet been adapted to manga and will likely not happen in the anime until season 3:
The MC was actually Lufas the whole time. Basically, Lufas knew the Seven Heroes were coming after her, and she knew that when she came back, the goddess Alovenus would try to nerf her by placing some hapless Earth loser into her body. So, she sent a small part of her soul to Earth, into the body of a newborn boy in Japan. Said boy grew up and subconsciously recreated his true self in a video game, then when the time came for Lufas to revive, his soul was chosen to be the lock on Lufas' body. There is no "taking over," because they're the same person, just two different perspectives. Once he realizes this truth, they just become one soul once again.
It's episodes like these that make me regret my conviction to not drop any anime after I've already invested some time into it. Bringing over modern-day vehicles to a fantasy setting without any rhyme or reason is one thing I hate, but then you immediately follow it up with the typical isekai-harem-fanservice slop, that from what I've read was entirely anime-original... If I didn't know that this was completely added in, I would've changed my mind about reading the manga, but at least now the taste hasn't been soured as much as it would've been otherwise for me. And yes, I hated it so much that I spent the entire "Oh LoOk A rAnDoM oNsEn" scene reading the comments in this thread and writing this.
