I didint expacted from this ep go this hard, well its finaly nice to see the King understand what roal famaly cursed , and im maybi mistook he for being bad person , realy poor Elen she have endure that horror seeing how they kill inocent spirits.
Well that explains the curse though it wasn't meant for the rest of the family. But it carried on because of not appeasing the souls of their grudge.
I see so it's not impossible to break the curse. But the royal family needs to be better to the spirits , reflect on their crimes and then maybe the curse will be lifted. Also why do I have the feeling that black hearted prince is in love with Ellen.
So basically the way to break the curse would be by increasing the prayers, the trust and humans should sincerely apologize? Just guessing, but Ellen and the princess probably will need to make the the country trust the spirits again by helping them and make almost a religion for the spirits, maybe a religion for Ellen and then she would have the power to break curse?

So the queens solution is to let the victims suffer eternally along side innocent descendents that don't even know what happened?
That's....quite a decision eh ma'am? Teach your little future queen to ignore your problems and to let your subjects suffer alone...wow....
The way I understood it, it wasn't really the queen's choice directly, but rather that she didn't have much of a choice at all here because the grudge of those spirits themselves is what's caused that, they are deeply intertwined in the royal bloodline making it quite the complicated matter (Though, deciding to do nothing is a weird choice in a way, maybe personal grudge does play a hand in this)
I'm not blaming the queen for the curse going haywire since the spirits in agony seem to have hijacked the curse. She doesn't even seem to be the one who casted or order it to happen.
I see this as a sad accident.
What I have beef with is that, at least up to this point in the story, the Queen who is responsible for the entire spirit kingdom, knows this is happening and don't seem to be even trying to do anything to end it.

Thats literary is explained in episode that humans don't reflect on their mistake and offer only empty prayers.
From episode:
Humans only offer token prayers every year at the Spirit Festival, you understand. Not only are they ungrateful for us spirits, but they've never reflected on what they did. That is why they remain unforgiven.
Edit
And it't not even just excuse to do nothing, as you can clearly see that it's exactly how Ravisel behave. There is just one exception with his son starting to understand something, but that's for now not enough.

Please explain to me how someone is supposed to reflect on someone else's mistake without access to what said mistake is.

Ravisel shouldn't even be cursed, the spirits cursed the entire lineage due to a grudge.
The same spirits seem to be suffering and asking the spirit queen for help.
Ravisel seems to be trying to end the curse for selfish reasons, but that's just him.
Why can't anyone simply let the humans know what sins had been commited so that they can reflect on it and try to repent? As soon as that information was let out(by accident again) at least one human started to try to repent.

By simply being curious and showing any signs of remorse.

Cuz as we can see non of them up to this point in the story reflect and even want to change that. There are books, they can write and read and yet information about what happened is nowhere to find in human world? If they as a whole regret or anything, why they try to hide that? The very fact that this information is not known shows a dismissive attitude. To even think that anything reached them greater interest need to be shown, which, as can be seen, was not a case.
