Really , shadow monarch or what 😅 , that pose with the daggers and turning his blood into shadow wolves , seeing some influence from someone
not really, but the director is making shit up. Hardly relevant to the source material tbh
Have you read the manga ? Is it same or different ?
I read the manga and the LN. Everything is so skipped and the anime and rushed if not changed. There is crazy amount of changes. Even the way craw's sister died was diff XD i was double thinking if what i saw was even the same thing. idk man. not a fan of how this turned out even tho i really enjoyed the LN so much. ;(
I get that they want to play up this huge moral struggle with "I don't know what's right or wrong" or "I came here ready to kill...or at least I thought I was", but bro I don't know if I just lack the empathy or am just morally bancrupt, but in these type of cases I would categorize demons has humanoid monsters and this demon was ready to go over corpses to kidnap your "lover" so just off with the head you idiot, what are you hesitating for? I got this feeling things will derail next episode just because he couldn't finish the job (He's even an assassin, a class meant to kill funnily enough)
Well, he has been human for 16 years (in a world where killing is the highest level of crime kinda and would be punched by death, maybe? XD) and an assassin for few months of not less XD not to mention he didnt kill humans yet. If he could he would have killed the king in the first ep, but ya i see what you mean.
Because it is a moral struggle? It is an Isekai story so the MC is not used to the "kill or be killed" mentality. Also the MC did mention the reasons why he'd like to avoid killing back in episode 1 and Commander Saran agreed.
Having limitations is what makes stories interesting.
I never denied it being a moral struggle, my comment literally starts with how I get what they want to portray, all I'm saying is that it lacks in execution (meaning it's kinda poorly done in this case if you ask me) which mainly stems from this anime being way too fast pace (Not the "good" Solo Leveling kinda fast pace, but rather the "I feel like they are speed running the story" way) so it lacks proper set up (And no, one single scene in the first episode isn't really proper set up) it should be gradual and reach climax at the height of his moral struggle, but in this case it feels like they did one scene in episode 1, forgot about it for 5 episodes and then brought it back when it's convenient
The MC grappled with the moral dilemma multiple times and he made is reasons clear. He wants to have a clear conscience and is willing to struggle through some hardship to stay that way. It would be very easy for an OP character like him to just kill everyone and wrap up the story in a few episodes but where's the fun in that. Also someone he could hypothetically kill might be the only person who has the knowledge of how he can get back to Earth. So, maybe not a good idea in the long-run.
No they did not forget it for 5 episodes, there was the familial contract scene where he didn't kill the demon cat and it became his familiar. That was episode 3 by the way.
Also one thing I hated about Solo levelling is how the MC simply accepted his new status and place in the system without using his privileged position to figure out why all of that shit was happening in his world (Maybe it's explained later in the comic, but I'm not reading it). There were attempts at it, but he clearly fought somewhat intelligent enemies and could maybe try to get answers from them.

I'll give you the point on this discussion (At least mostly, I still somewhat disagree, but whatever, I don't care enough to drag this on), but you have to actually have not watched Solo Leveling to have that opinion, Jinwoo literally tried to find out stuff when the opportunity was there and the System interfered to give him as little information as possible (Rewatch the scenes where he talked with both Baruka and Esil Radiru that directly disprove your point) and yes he does find out more about his role in the world and about the system, literally in the next season or movie (Whatever ends up coming out), so have some patience buddy
Same I'm not into dragging out arguments. But the fiddling that he did in Solo levelling barely constitutes as fiddling to any strategy games player. I'm not sure if the anime glossed it over, but there's no attempt to cross-reference his experience with others and how the system works on their side since he likes to keep to himself.
I don't think the system is perfect and there should be flaws, if it does turn out to be "perfect", that would just be lazy writing on the part of the author. But then again, it is just a power fantasy graphic novel, so, it is what it is. I mean, SAO was popular too...
This Episode was pretty bad tbh, the animation felt like it went down the drain and just from reading what others, already said i just noticed it from watching, they pretty much rushed the scenes in the episode and filled it with moving images not animation, the first few were not bad, but slowly but surely i kinda see that the budget went into the first episodes
I completely agree, the mediocre and slow animation plus the lack of good coreography during the Akira fight was terrible, can't believe that some people are lying to themselves that the animation is great.
The story and characters so far are not good,Amelia is so useless and reliant on Akira it's insane, dude is constantly using shadow Magic and not even improving his Assassin skills.
Thinking about dropping this.
Seems like this episode dumped a lot of context and world-building information. Labyrinths were built by the Demon Lord. I'm not sure why they haven't been conquered and destroyed yet if that is possible.
Demons seem to be a powerful race yet were somehow exiled to a barren continent. How? Did a previous hero do that? Why is there a prejudice against them in the first place. Who started it? Why are there Demon Lords and Heroes in the first place if Demons don't exactly want to be evil. Or are not all completely evil.
Many more mysteries to solve. Tune in next week for an acceptable answer.
