I think that was another decent episode today all things considered.
But I just realized something while watching todays episode, I have absolutely no idea where this is going currently.
My feeling is this season will end on a cliffhanger with Saitama barely even seen lol.
they adapated a retconned version of the manga lmao. So now the timeline is fucked up ontop of everything else
welp atleast there were some movement, can't expect something like episode 8 that would be too copius.
Was honestly surprised by that too. I mean it's cool to see Brilliant Eagle mode animated but storywise it definitely would've been better to stick to the retcon.
I know that there is a lot of debate on this as with a lot of retcons in the manga but this one seems important for future developments and overall does more for the story and characters than the original part, also bringing Saitama back (even if I don't really like his role during it) as his absence during this season has been a bit of an issue.
But yeah with the quality of the season it doeasn't bother me much tbh.
I personally think that if this level of animation were in another anime it would have gotten better reception. The animation looked good, they used good cgi in scenes that felt smooth, and the art was good as well. The season is definitely gonna end mid arc i'm sure considering we're only in what seems to be the second fight. This episode in easily a 7 maybe 7.5
Yeah, I mean this comes pretty natural in the anime community, if it was a regular Isekai or Fantasy show with this level of animation people would be like "This is good for what it is" and go on, but because it's OPM, a popular IP that got two spectacular seasons prior (Yes I also count season 2 as very well animated, fight me over it if you want), the dissappointment will automatically be bigger because there are high expectations as opposed to an IP nobody knows
I also thought Season 2 was also amazing, couldn’t understand the hate over it even tho it wasn’t as much as now. Then again, I did watch it this year back to back so I would understand the wait people had to go through. However, I still think the anime community is too harsh and too critical sometimes. For example, I remember when Demon Slayer was considered extremely good and when it blew up and EVERYONE started watching it, the forced hate started. Same with solo leveling, the hate started after it won anime of the year.

Omg, this! Exactly! It's ridiculous how people immediately start to hate on something that is popular just because they either can't comprehend how people can enjoy/like something that they don't enjoy/like or they just simply love to stick out and be a part of the people swimming against the stream
It's mostly the hardcore biased fans or just post covid elitists. I watched Naruto as a kid and it is my fav anime of all time, but I know it's not the best, but I only got back to watching anime in 2022. Riding the bandwagon has become so normalized and having an opinion is frowned upon especially if it goes against the masses, it's just looked at as "Coping" or "trash take".
This episode was honestly just a very well animated episode. Some jank but overall the quality floor was above average and I think people really underestimate how difficult it is to animate these designs, especially the mecha. And it moves quite a bit too. Great achievement by J.C. Staff and probably is going to be the peak of this season
Not sure if it was just the server I watched it on, but this fight looked like it was dimmed a lot—kind of like the Sukuna vs. Mahoraga fight. Is this a common thing anime studios do? I’ve seen dark scenes before, but this is only the second time it felt this extreme. It literally looked like they turned the brightness down to like 10% lol.
I paused watching and came back after I saw y'alls comments about last week's episode and this week's...
You guys got so used to dogshit animation that you call THIS decent or pretty good?
Even saw someone trying to gaslight themselves into saying this was 7.5... How can any of y'all defend this? Did you already forget S1?
